I'm sure that pretty much everyone has heard about the so called "memo". Just in case I'm wrong about that here's a link. To be honest, I'm looking forward to the release. I think the anti Trumpers have over played their hand on the Russia collusion thing. Regardless of me feeling like I'm watching an impending car wreak, I think the drivers of said cars will regain control of their vehicles and we'll have to wait till the next crisis to see the blood and guts. And then there's the McCabe thing www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/01/the-defenestration-of-andrew-mccabe/551771/The timing is odd, considering the impending release of the "memo". Probably just a coincidence. This stuff to me, seems more interesting than some ol lame speech. But waddaIknow

I think the memo is being oversold by repubs in Congress. But...I think the memo is going to allow me, personally, quite a number of "I told you so"s with regard to FISA and the FISA court, because it will be strong evidence that the latter is something of a joke, insofar as the FISA court is permitting--approving, actually--the very behavior FISA was enacted to stop or at least limit.

Agree on the "oversold" part. I also think the Dems are overselling it, or maybe it's just the media who is overselling, shrug.
The whole thing is turning into Rachel Maddow on steroids.

Will the content of the memo live up to its hype? Perhaps the reported doctoring of the memo might be a bigger story than the memo itself? I could be wrong but I get the feeling it is overhyped. If it was dynamite Trump would have been peeing his pants with excitement.

The whole thing is turning into Rachel Maddow on steroids. Lol, good one. It's looking just like her "exclusive" big reveal of Trump's tax returns.

I think the memo is not only way overhyped by Republicans, but is in fact a piece of shit. I believe the FBI when they say it is riddled with inaccuracies and distortions, not to mention references to classified material, and shouldn't be released. I think the entire process demonstrates that Nunes and the,Republicans reporting him reek to high heaven (at best are irresponsible as all hell). Why did Trump get a different version? Why release this and block the Dem rebuttal/reply?
Oh, it reeks.
I think it's intended as a distraction from the Russia investigation -- which I think is currently UNDERplayed, not overplayed -- i.e , I think Mueller and his team have much more than we know.
FWIW, my bet is that some major shit is going to hit the fan soon -- and Nunes/Trump/Congressional Republicans know it. And that's why this is going down the way it is.
eta: this is another post and run, I fear -- a piece of work dropped onto my plate just now that will likely submerge me until tomorrow. gaah!

As much as I think the memo is being oversold by the repubs, I also think the dems aren't doing themselves any favors by objecting to it being released and the like, because that just makes them--and the FBI--look like they're trying to bury something. Maybe it's fair for the FBI to object here, but the dems would have been better served to just shrug it off with a "whatever," let the memo get released, and then respond. Imo, anyway.

Doesn't look to me at ALL like they were trying to bury anything -- it looks to me like they don't want something they feel is highly misleading and inaccurate released with nothing to counter and explain it (since the Republicans refuse to release the Dem's response -- are you suggesting the Dem's should shrug and then defy them by releasing their response anyway?) Anyway. Most important tweet of the day from Republican Trey Gowdy: So, yeah. ETA: Lots of other people came out and said the memo did not in any way cast doubt on the Mueller investigation, and that the investigation must continue unimpeded, including Republicans ( McCain, among others), but Gowdy's wasn't one I was expecting. I think he'd support that memo if he could -- the fact that he can't says worlds to me. ETA: Coincidence that the stock market dropped a thousand points this week -- 666 points today? I don't think so.

I don't think this memo was intended to obstruct Mueller or his investigation. I think it has more to do with the brass within the FBI and the sloppy way in which it obtained the FISA warrants.

I think the memo was intended to distract from the investigation and cast shade on it. Did it succeed? Take it away, Rick Wilson: I got me a wee crush on Rick Wilson. So. Freaking. Funny.

As it turns out Trey Gowdy was the one who reviewed the top secrete documents in which the memo was birthed www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/02/02/nunes-tells-fox-news-memo-was-released-out-public-obligation.htmlAnd then just to keep some coals on the fire Nunes ended with this
