I'm an independent centrist atheist. Some of my closest friends are born-again Christians. Go figure, huh? My pet peeves are social judgemental warriors who think screaming louder makes them right, Girl Scouts who don't understand -- "No, I don't want any goddamn cookies! Leave me alone!"-- is a final answer, and undead Chihuahuas. (I mean...really. What's up with them?) How does one report a post?

Anyone and everyone is more than welcome. I've already advertised the forum on the ProBoards website, on my FB account, and on Twitter. Amadan is right about critical mass, I think. This place won't last if it doesn't get some members from other sources. Things held together at AW as a relatively small community because there was always new meat dipping their toes in and other stuff to draw people to the site. The road here is much, much harder. And regarding where we all came from: I don't want snide/negative comments about AW or about people there. This place isn't in competition with it at all. There are no writing-themed rooms here. It's a place for political discussions (and laughs). And please don't recruit new members while on the AW website, via pm or anything else. That's bad form. Thanks for this.

I know a few peeps on Facebook who I've known to have thoughtful discussions and disagreements with. I'll see about inviting them, with you're permission.
Beyond that, I'm a registered independent, I lean conservative on fiscal and foreign policy issues, but liberal on social. I hate labels because I feel like a liberal or conservative in NY is so different than a liberal or conservative in Utah, so I'd rather avoid the broad brush and discuss the details.

If we know people who would be good members here, should we invite them? I say yes. Rob can contradict me if he disagrees (but I doubt he does). I'd love to see a mix of liberals, conservatives, moderates, libertarians and iconoclasts engaging in lively debate. If they're not a troll solely interested in insulting people and creating trouble solely for the pure sake of creating trouble, I'd be happy to see them. What about human beings, do you allow us, I mean THOSE people in here? I see someone's post has already made it into someone else's sigline. You can always veil them -- take a potshot at chihuahuas or the undead, for example. We'll know what you mean. And of course, one can always bash cray, whether or not he decides to join us. Also acceptable is battery bashing, speedo slandering, coconut oil criticism, and the wholesale rejection of training schedules and despotic pieces of paper lying about on desks. I still see the occasional #blamedawno on twitter and FB.

Yes, that does indeed work. Thanks for testing that...
