Spoiler alert: I read the rest of the article, and heads should roll. They won't, of course, but they should. Agreed. And, agreed. It smacks of some sort of special favors, if not outright corruption (not sure the two are distinct in this case). A friend of Michelle Obama calls the AG. Smollett's family calls AG. AG is friends with all of them. She recuses herself. After grand jury indicts Smollett, AG becomes involved again and her office suddenly drops all charges without telling anyone they were going to do it and they also seal all records of it. I've swam in oceans that smelled less fishy than this bullshit.

Fascinating thread on the likely corrupt AG from this case. Looks like there's a brewing shitstorm that's about to land directly on her head, and it's completely her fault. For starters, not did she not actually ever officially recuse herself from the case (even though there was a huge conflict of interest), she was in direct, secret contact with Smollett's family the entire time. Apparently, FBI is now reviewing the case:

Apparently, FBI is now reviewing the case: "Likely corrupt?" Based upon what? You need a wet wipe to clean yourself from all the pants-filling you're doing over a fucking false police report? I haven't seen this amount of Angry White Male outrage over a Black guy beating the rap since O.J. Simpson walked and all he did was butcher two people to death. Allegedly.
This would be be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.
Oh, and fuck the FBI, the DOJ and the Pussygrabbing Russian Asset that sicced them on Jussie Smollett.

Yeah! You damn angry white males!
And mea culpa, because I was obviously way off base. There's no attempt at deflection going on here and even if there is, it's certainly not rooted in the color of Smollett's skin.

There's no attempt at deflection going on here and even if there is, it's certainly not rooted in the color of Smollett's skin. Funny. And here I thought the obsession going on here was certainly rooted in the color of Smollett's skin and/or his sexual orientation. I believed the fury and anger of Angry White Men from President Pussygrabber on down to the schmoes of The Colline Gate had a little sumpthin' sumpthin' to do with the color of Smollett's skin and/or his sexual orientation. But I guess it couldn't be because nobody here looks at anything through racially-tinged glasses except me.
Here ya go. Dig in.
I know, I know. Who cares? It's a deflection. It's a distraction. A diversion. A duck, dodge, bob and weave to impede the progress of this very real, very grave, very, very S-E-R-I-O-U-S crime committed by Jussie Smollett. That has nothing to do with this.
This whole lot of nothing.

Yes, but it could have happened...
What's awful here--by my reckoning--is the fact that the story got national attention from the beginning. Thus, there will be a national shaming for something that should have just been a lesson in fibbing for a child.

So whenever we see an alledged act of racism, sexism, or any other ism that turns out to be a hoax, are we just calling it 'Pulling a Jussie?'
