Her out-of-nowhere, completely fabricated "Bernie is a sexist" attack completely destroyed any respect I had for her. It was so mendacious and so transparent that it had been orchestrated with CNN. After lying about her ethnicity, lying about her kids in public school (at least one of them), lying about being fired for being pregnant, lying about Bernie...her entire campaign is a steaming pile of bullshit and she is pretty much the worst candidate since Hillary.
...which made it no surprise that Hillary immediately came out with her idiotic "nobody likes Bernie" attacks. God, why can't she just go away? She's pretty much playing the bitter post-election John McCain role, but to an even worse and mouth-frothing degree than he did. I'm waiting for someone to give her the, "Hillary, the election is over" like Obama did to McCain, but I doubt it would phase her.

In theory, there's an easy distinction, though, between "misinformation" and "misinformation designed to suppress voters". "Nancy Pelosi is an alcoholic" would be an example of the former, and doesn't need to be addressed, even though it isn't true. "Don't forget to vote on November 5th" would be the latter, and it probably makes sense to treat it differently. I'd be especially bothered if an actual campaign was behind something like that, and they were targeting voters of an opposing candidate. But in practice, you're probably right, because too many people can't make these kinds of straightforward distinctions, anymore.

But in practice, you're probably right, because too many people can't make these kinds of straightforward distinctions, anymore. A quick read of her Twitter thread on this as well as the info at the link she posted clearly shows that she's not talking simply about misinformation related to voter suppression; she's pretty clear about it basically also encompassing "mean things I don't like." The somewhat tasty irony of this is that her campaign has been one big misinformation machine for over a year straight (e.g., every lie of hers that I listed earlier). This is another desperate attention grab, nothing more, just like her stunt in the impeachment proceedings today where Chief Justice Roberts had to read her question.

What is with this "disinformation" fixation? In my mind, I think of "disinformation" as being specific to governments and intelligence communities, i.e. it's propaganda that's spread as if it were secret/classified. The US Army sending out phony messages about how there would be a huge offensive in Norway on June 6th, 1944 is disinformation. Making shit up about yourself or about your political opponent is just lying.

But lying doesn't sound as sinister as DISINFORMATION!

I'm a cynic for sure, but I personally find it hilarious that the party of diversity is most likely going to end up with three old, rich white dudes as their top three candidates.

So what's happening in Iowa? Can I declare myself the winner?
