Got an idea to make things better/more to your liking? Post 'em here.
New rooms, new features, different names for stuff, etc.

I'm going to have suggestions on rooms and such -- will give it some thought over this next week.
But the thing I'm missing most now? multiquotes. Is that a feature we can get?

If you go to the gear icon and click "select post" on the posts you want to multiquote (except for the last one), then click "quote" on the last one, you get multiquote. Viola!

This isn't really a suggestion, more of a question - I don't think we can edit out quotes when we're quoting a poster who quoted someone else. I mean, we can edit out the words but not the window or the avatar, am I right? It's just a bit of clutter that's not necessary when we only want to quote a few words.

Looks like we can to some extent. I cut out the dates and times. ETA: Well, no. I guess I didn't. Looks like we can't do that. It defaults to include all user info. I'll look at the admin settings.

Can we get a link to a post formatting guide somewhere? Or inline? Does this forum use BB Code?
ETA: Yes, and apparently Editing a post shows the toolbar, but I am not sure how to go into "Advanced Edit" when writing a post initially.

Another thought -- should we have a simple list of tenets? Those of us here already have the AW tenets ingrained in them, which I think is an excellent thing. But new folk might come in thinking this is yahoo news. Personally, while I adore a good argument, and would fight to the death for someone to argue a substantive point I disagree with, I hate libtard/rethuglican etc. name-calling and sneering. This isn't really a suggestion, more of a question - I don't think we can edit out quotes when we're quoting a poster who quoted someone else. You can edit out the code that includes the previous post.

No suggestions at the moment, just a comment that I'm glad to see forum software that has a "Like" button.

I just added some avatars. I think. Someone let me know if they're available.

You know the "Prev" and "Next" buttons with the page number in between at the top of a thread? Can that be repeated at the bottom of the thread? If so, I can click the Next at the bottom and go to the next page without having to scroll back up to the top.
OMG, this is my second post, I might as well register here.

Maybe you need a room called "Future Shock" or something along those lines. This article, for example, really doesn't fall readily under either Political or Economic Theory, it's not a "current event" in the strictest interpretation, and it's not confined to either US or International politics. But there's a ton of red meat for digesting. The Peer-to-Peer Economy: Death Blow to the State
So where does one place a thread about a topic like this?

Well, that strikes me as political economy. And I think it should go in the economics room. Because ultimately, all economics theory is political economy.

Economics room it is. But could you explain "all economics theory is political economy?"
ETA: Perhaps elsewhere? That would be a big derail for this thread.
