This fairly well sums up where I am on the impeachment: thefederalist.com/2021/02/11/this-impeachment-of-donald-john-trump-is-trial-by-feelings/I think it was fair to bring charges, I think Trump's team made awful arguments re the legality of this (which makes him look worse, honestly), but if I were a Senator, I don't think I'd vote to convict, based on what I've seen and heard, because I don't think Trump broke new ground with a lot of the bullshit he was spewing, apart from being the first modern President to do it.

The fix was in from the start, as most of us already knew. He could've had the most incompetent team of lawyers ever...and he very nearly did, it seems...and he was still gonna be acquitted. Only 7 put country before cult and, unfortunately, several of them will likely be punished at the polls for doing the right thing.
