I admit that it might be wishful thinking, but I'm predicting that Trump doesn't even attempt to follow through on many of his campaign pledges. The wall is number one on that list.
On Obamacare, I really am hoping he's at least careful about what he does. I actually agree it's a mess (fwiw, I blame Congress more than I blame Obama for that), and I must admit I rather itch to reform it myself, but now a lot of people are depending on it. If his administration just yanks it away, it will be a disaster. Any reforms should be done thoughtfully and intelligently so he doesn't end up fucking over people.

His supporters are going to be disappointed to find out that under that orange Tribble, he's just another lying, self-promoting politician who'll say anything to get elected, and then do whatever he damn well pleases after they hand over the One Ring.

I was not shocked. When I saw my wealthy, socially liberal, agnostic parents and sister voting for Trump, I knew this could happen. When I saw my wealthy black neighbor put Aw Hell No and Hillary for Prison signs in his yard, I knew this could happen. When I saw half the people I work with, from two educated, gun-loving VPs on down to tender-hearted native American blue-collar worker voting for Trump, I knew this could happen. When I saw so many young, leftist liberal friends of my teen voting third-party to "send a message" or griping about not "feeling inspired" by Clinton or refusing to vote at all, I knew this could happen. When I saw my immigration attorney neighbor and his Ecuadorian immigrant wife voting for Trump, I knew this could happen.
It's too easy to dismiss Trump's support as a rural, poor, uneducated white Christian problem. Sure they contributed, but our national attitude of "Not a problem for ME is not a problem at all" is a big part of what led to this.
