That was the impression I got, Opty. IMO, Feinstein is proof positive that those on the left are just as willing to support scumbags who champion their causes as anyone on the right has ever been. Not to say anyone's suggesting it, but I think it's funny how people often assume that if one aligns with either the Left or the Right, they see their own team members as perfect and infallible, and are willing to excuse them in any case. Or that, for some reason, pointing out a politician's faults or past missteps invalidates anything they say right now. Somewhere between ad hominem and negative appeal to authority. Perhaps we could agree that there's a certain level of contamination one can assume applies to all politicians - and take it all with, well, not just a grain of salt, but a bag of tortilla chips and a Margarita.
