Okay. I know a lot of people have concerns about Pence as president, and as an atheist who feels strongly about keeping the line between church and state intact, I understand those concerns, really, I do. But it comes down to this for me: I can't see Pence doing shit like this. I can't see him giving classified intelligence to Russian visitors. I can't see him waking up grumpy and declaring war on North Korea. I can't see him having a Twitter account that looks anything like Trump's. And I can't see himself making constant embarrassing, contradictory, obviously false statements every twenty minutes.
My guess is Pence would ultimately be a standard conservative president, and probably a fairly boring one. That would, for me, be a relief. Trump is worrying me more all the time.
Team Impeachment.

To quote Condoleezza Rice back during the elections, ENOUGH.

As a Christian, I agree with you about separation between church and state. (Given my most recent experiences with churches, and the way the loud ones behave, I'm currently in favor of separation between church and *me*.)
When I read a new item about the current President, I'm reminded of a kid in school (and we probably all knew someone like this): he would always want to be the focus of any conversation. He would top any story, and it didn't matter whether it was true or not. He wasn't exactly a liar; he just didn't have a compass for truth at all.
And he would say anything -- ANYthing -- to be the centre of attention. Couldn't, wouldn't keep any secret; would share any gossip, as long as he got to be the one revealing it, the guy who knew it.
That, to me, is Trump. He will say anything to anyone - whether it's confidential, true, or otherwise - to be the big shot. He doesn't clean up his messes; that's for others, and it's the price we all pay for him being Trump.
He is as far from Presidential material as I could even imagine, and his supporters seem to stand behind him before they will stand up for the law of the land. "Concerning" doesn't really cover it.

At last, though, I understand the appeal of Trump.
See, Hillary Clinton presented a security risk because she occasionally sent classified info in emails via a private server that could potentially have been hacked by an enemy.
So. Inefficient.
Trump cuts through all that silly red tape and just gives classified info directly to our enemies.

He's a get-things-done sort of guy.

I just wonder which 'ally' is now waking everyone up in a scramble to save their intel source. France? Israel? Turkey? One of the middle Eastern countries?
I mean, each of them would be horribad in their own way. Is Trump going to brag more later on? Maybe about UK or German shared intel?

Max, while you're over there in France, would you mind terribly apologizing to our European allies about this? We're most dreadfully embarrassed.

Oh, I wish I was in France. I'm sitting here in my bunker in Middle Sweden because Donald Trump swore that there were mooslems out there and I can't go anywhere. At least in France I could sit at a nice Parisian café, eat Eauclairs all day, and drool over my political leaders. The leaders here aren't like that. At all. Sigh. But seriously, America. Unfuck your shit. If your leaders are going to blab to the Russians because he wants to show how important he is and get our agents in hostile places killed or captured, you need to do something. Or people won't tell you about threats and dangers coming your way.

Trump is more interested in playing the big shot then in doing the job he was elected to do, that much we know. And this was without a doubt a major boneheaded move. But no threats, Max. Or we'll pack up everything and go home. We'll see how long Europe lasts then...

Hmmm... on the other hand: I want to believe the WaPo story; it sounds like Trump. But McMaster has a point here, especially given all of the leaking that has been going on. This is a pretty serious accusation and ultimately, whomever made it needs to step up, I think.

I want to believe the WaPo story; it sounds like Trump. Well, that's pretty scary on its own: the idea that such an allegation could crop up about the president, and intelligent people hear that and think: "Hey, that sounds fairly plausible."

Yeah, but think about it: Trump is a character, a made-for-TV persona. Every successful politician has a crafted public persona, but Trump's goes way beyond that. Think of how many "Trump expressions" are available. It's easy to sound like Trump.
Again, I want to accept the WaPo story as factually accurate, there's no reason why it couldn't be. And yet, anyone here could craft some sentences together that someone else would buy as coming from Trump.
And you know, that strikes me as yet another problem for Trump-as-President.

But on the other other hand: Of course, he's not saying the shared info was classified. I doubt he ever will. Still, once again it would be nice if the entire admin was in the same page.
