I want to believe the WaPo story; it sounds like Trump. But McMaster has a point here, especially given all of the leaking that has been going on. This is a pretty serious accusation and ultimately, whomever made it needs to step up, I think. "Oh, the WaPo exaggerated, no classified intelligence was leaked" is fucking damage control. You really think they'd say anything else in the wake of Trump bragging to the Russians about how great his intel is? Jesus fucking retarded bloody mother fucking Christ.

No, I think that's exactly what they'd say, no matter what.
But sorry, I'm having a hard time trusting anyone in DC right now. Trump's a train wreck, true enough. But come on, there are a bunch of shitburgers at State and elsewhere who clearly have no problem leaking anything to anyone at anytime and I see no reason to assume they're being honest.

McMaster denied stuff that wasn't in the WaPo story and then walked away without taking questions. It was a non-denial.

But no threats, Max. Or we'll pack up everything and go home. We'll see how long Europe lasts then... Threat? There's no threat here, just a recognition of the realities. While I suspect that the burned asset here worked for Iraq, Saudi Arabia or Israel, the key is that the source was likely burnrd in a penis waving display. In the game of states, states will always put their own and their dependents first. If telling the US things means death or capture for a state's own or its dependents, then the state won't tell you things. And the state will channel information that would allow you to figure things out for yourself away from you, even if it means that some of you could die. You just won't ever know that we knew about an attack beforehand. And our people are not burned. Unless you find out we knew.

Oh, I wish I was in France. I'm sitting here in my bunker in Middle Sweden because Donald Trump swore that there were mooslems out there and I can't go anywhere.

At least in France I could sit at a nice Parisian café, eat Eauclairs all day, and drool over my political leaders. The leaders here aren't like that. At all. Sigh.

But seriously, America. Unfuck your shit. If your leaders are going to blab to the Russians because he wants to show how important he is and get our agents in hostile places killed or captured, you need to do something. Or people won't tell you about threats and dangers coming your way. I've been saying since before the election that Trump would make us less safe, not more. But did anyone listen? Noooo. No one ever listens to me. .

You know, Trump brings these shitstorms on himself, by and large. He's awful. He's been awful since day one and he's not getting any better. That's disheartening to me.
But also disheartening is the media's near-pathological desire to "get" Trump, no matter what, as evidenced day after day after day. Everything that happens is now either a "constitutional crisis," impeachment-worthy, or both.
And maybe even more disheartening is the fact that the Federal government seems to be full of people who would be more at home in a Hollywood studio, always on the lookout for a reporter from Inside Edition to whom they can dish out out the latest gossip over drinks.

come on. what kind of idiot tweets something like that the morning after he's accused of leaking sensitive info, while his advisers are still scrambling to 'splain it?
He is making a fool out of McMaster just as he does every other person who comes in his orbit. which is a shame, since McMaster actually has credibility to lose.
McMaster did a very careful bit of damage control there, as good as could have been managed under the circumstances, and Trump made it look dubious in a single Tweet.

NO FUCKING KIDDING he didn't say "Oh yes, I gave classified info to the Russians"! Even Trump isn't that retarded. No, I take that back. I wouldn't put it past him at this point. JFC, I know you want to be relentlessly "fair" to Trump because the media, the DNC, and much of the country is relentlessly, knee-jerk hysterical about him, but this is not some little blustery faux pas that the liberal fake news is blowing out of proportion to "get" Trump - this is the fucking President opening his mouth about shit he shouldn't be opening his mouth about at all, least of all to the fucking Russians (who I'm sure were nodding politely with wide-eyed awe and appreciation - "Oh my goodness, Mr. President, your intel is so strong, so virile, much impressive! Tell us more!") If I were a U.S. asset right now, I'd be burying myself in the deepest hole I could find and staying there.

You probably don't know anything worth knowing." And then just sit back and listen to him bluster and spew.

If it's that big a deal, if he did put an asset in danger, then the info needs to be vetted and verified. The source(s) needs to walk up to the mic and say what happened, not play footsie with reporters over cocktails at the Capitol Grill. You want Trump gone? That's how it's going to happen, via hard evidence, not via bullshit leaks from people in DC with axes to grind.

I was just reminded of a GLADOS quote from the game Portal:
"Since it doesn't look like we're going anywhere … well, we are going somewhere. Alarmingly fast, actually. But since we're not busy other than that, here's a couple of facts. He's not just a regular moron. He's the product of the greatest minds of a generation working together with the express purpose of building the dumbest moron who ever lived. And you just put him in charge of the entire facility. [slow clap again] Good, that's still working."

You mean, they should publicize the classified info and the source, just to guaran-fucking-tee that anyone associated with the intel will be burned? Okay, if you want to believe this is all fake news because "LOL Trump Derangement Syndrome!" fine. It's all DC insiders out to get Trump.
