www.reuters.com/article/us-russia-linkedin-idUSKBN13C0RNNow, the talk is that this is an authoritarian-style clamp-down on social media. Maybe it's just me, but Linkedin is the last social media site where I expect to see activist-style activity. It seems to me that Russia is trying to force sites to have a physical presence in Russia for revenue purposes and is disguising this under the umbrella of protecting its citizen's data. Thoughts?

I've seen pretty much nothing in the way of activist-type activity on Linkedin. A few of my law school classmates who have political-type positions push out some ideas once in a while, but from what I can see, they don't excite much (if anything) in the way of response. Mostly people seem to simply put up business profiles, from what I've seen, and they're not interested in doing anything else there -- there are other sites better equipped for stirring up activism.
So I'm betting you're right, unless Russia is being extra extra authoritarian, and cracking down on all sites where any activism could possibly theoretically arise.

Wouldn't shock me, understanding how Putin works, but it seems a bit of overkill. I'm mostly not looking for Russian nationals to link to.

Putin isn't going to block Trump's Twitter feed, is he? Trump might find that hurtful.
