Live results: www.realclearpolitics.com/elections/live_results/2017_11_7_va_gov.htmlPrediction: If Gillespie wins, Repubs will insist it's a Big Deal, Dems will play it off as not all that significant. If Northam wins, Dems will insist it's a Big Deal, Repubs will play it off as not...all...that...significant... If Hyra wins, the world ends at dawn.

Congratulations. After a year of losses, the Dems needed a win or two badly.

I wonder if the failures in the 2016 polling caused pollsters to overcorrect, because the polls--for the most part--were way off in Va.

By the way, did anyone watch Fox last night? Articles and Twitter posts have it that Fox News completely ignored the elections last night, and instead ran clips of the 2016 election. www.rawstory.com/2017/11/fox-ignores-dem-wins-and-celebrates-trumps-historic-victory-by-playing-highlights-from-2016-election-night/amp/Assuming this is true (I wasn't watching, and so cannot confirm it), I've got to wonder what their end game is. Set aside accurately covering the actual current news. Ignoring the elections seems counterproductive to me, if their goal is to elect more Repubicans in 2018. I think it's pretty obvious the results reflect, at least to some extent, a backlash to what Trump and Republicans are currently doing, and because Democrats were strongly motivated to get out and vote. If Fox is interested in keeping GOP House and Senate majorities, you'd think Fox would want to give its viewers incentive to get out there, and to think about whether a course tweak is in order.

and the winner for least gracious concession ever goes to Bo Dietl. Take it away, Bo -
And congratulations. In a single tweet, you demonstrated several reasons why voters made the right choice.
