It would be swell if the peeps at Fox and Breitbart got suspended for their blatantly false stories about, e.g., Seth Rich and Clinton-sponsored pedophile rings in the non-existent basements of pizza parlors (this ABC one struck me as quite possibly an honest mistake). But that won't happen, of course, because "news" outlets like Fox and Breitbart are just as happy to report false news. Nobody believes those guys anyway, so what would be the point? No way this was an "honest" mistake. The mistake garnered way too much glee for it to be honest.

One third of America thinks Fox is the only reliable news network -- I saw a poll or two about it not long ago. I have no idea what percentage believes Breitbart, but there are clearly quite a few. And the crossover with the portion of people who defend Trump no matter what is considerable, to say the least. ETA: Pfft, what am I thinking? OUR FREAKING PRESIDENT has repeatedly said that Fox is the only reliable news network. HE retweets Fox and Breitbart and similar outlets. HE believes them, and so do all his bleeting Twitter followers.

Well, there is a difference between Ken Starr and Mueller. Starr went after a President who was at least competent. Right now, the Republican party would high-five endorsement from NAMBLA. Folks around the US would bounce out of their TV sofas and chair, and hit the air with a "Fuck yeah" if NAMBLA endorsed Trump, and then they'd go down on their knees to thank Jesus that a Christian was in the White House.

Also, Ken Starr emerged from his two years (actually, wasn't it three?) of investigation with, what, a lie about a blow-job. Mueller has quite a bit more than that already. And it's a lot more important than Clinton's diddling Monica.

Actually wasn't it something to do with lying?

Actually wasn't it something to do with lying? Yes. About a blow job. You want me to list the number of lies Trump and his cohort have told? It'll take a while. That's one reason why some of Trump's cabal are being indicted right now, with, I guarantee, more indictments and guilty pleas to follow.

Sorry, I seen the "diddling" part and got lost. lying ain't much of a crime unless you're under oath. If Mueller ever gets around to putting Trump in that position, he'll have the whole worlds attention. At this point I believe there's been 4 so called "cohorts" tossed under the Trump bus. Only 11 more to go to match the number tossed under the Clinton bus related to white water. There's still lots of time.

I don't see this investigation as a partisan issue. Hence, the (absurd) comparison to BIll Clinton's lying about his affair with Monica Lewinsky as a tit-for-tat thing is irrelevant.
I never voted for Bill Clinton, and I thought it was bullshit that he couldn't/wouldn't own up to that affair. But man, to compare that to the current investigation, and keep a straight face, must take some serious muscle control.

Would anyone really buy this? I don't actually want to know the answer to this, do I?

The problem with Trump's tweets is that there's a far greater than 50% chance--imo--that whatever is in them is a) not true, b) not accurate, and/or c) not based in reality. So to claim that what in a Trump tweet is evidence of anything seems kinda problematic.
'Course, I guess Trump can't have it both ways, politically, so I think it fair to keep running his ass down.
