OMG. Swach is being repressed. Only because it didn't work the first time.

It seems to me that when the south surrendered at Appomattox, that was also a disaster... for the south. Many other people had a different take on the situation.
Maybe it's too soon to be counting chickens?

I think every employer needs to be cautious of disgruntled ex employees. Even to go so far as to attempt not to repeat recent transitory "history".

Smart move by Trump to plug up some leaks before they start.

I for one, michaelw, do not think you are a Trump lover due to your stance on this one issue. Then again, I'm a nobody.

Good residence! The more war-hawks who resign (regardless of their reason) the better off the US and nations in her cross hairs will be.

What happened in the past is irrelevant (though most of the US military pullouts have been stupid in the past). And I wouldn't have much of a problem if the US had not gotten involved in Syria to start. But we kinda did. Bigly. And now we decide to take our ball and go home with pretty much no warning. It is S T U P I D. I believe that region, which is already pretty rough, will literally be Hell on Earth within a year. All this isn't even mentioning that any replacement with any bare minimum of qualifications is going to be someone that has the same view as Mattis. Leaving Syria at this time is pretty much universally seen as wrong from anyone who isn't a Trump sycophant. So we're going to end up with an unqualified yes man. The best people, for sure. Pretty much the only person who thinks the past is "irrelevant" is Charley Brown. (Think Lucy and the football).
I totally agree with you that the region will be hell on earth in a short time, the same as many other places on the planet. I think we need to remember though that this is the kind of shit Trump campaigned on. Now he is just fulfilling his promises to his voters. And no, I don't think all this is stupid, I think all this is Friday.

It won't be the first time the US has left their allies hang out to dry. The late great George Bush senior fucked over the Kurds back in 91. This whole "US allies" thing is not new, as a matter of fact, it's pretty much par for course. No tears from me. www.bbc.com/news/in-pictures-35967389

Not sure what you mean by " happy horseshit "?
When I read about this, I took it as a form of protest from the other side. Maybe I missed something?

Oddly enough, President Trump has announced a full withdrawal from Syria beginning immediately. www.cnn.com/2018/12/19/middleeast/trump-troops-syria-npw-analysis-intl/index.htmlI don't know about anybody else, but I'm happy with this little "widespread surprise". But, I'm wondering just a little if this is a bit of a leverage play for the southern border fence. Seems odd to me, but just the same I'm happy we're getting out of there.

I support Stevie Nicks being inducted twice. 1998 with Fleetwood Mac, and now by herself. Can't get enough of Stevie Nicks
