Meanwhile, at 1:10 a.m., the POTUS had an important message for the nation:
And, though he is too busy to meet wit Mueller, he found time for a 3 hour interview on Fox in which he railed about how "flipping" should be illegal and threatening that the economy would collape without him.
Oh, yeah, he totally acts like an innocent guy...
He knows the walls are closing in. He knows this isn't over, that his lapdogs are deserting him and/or coming down one by one, and it's only going to get worse. Every con game comes to an end-- I just hope this one doesn't drag the country under the wheels of this train wreck.

Also, I'm 100% certain that if my last name was "Pecker," I'd have it legally changed to literally anything but that.
I don't know, I mean "Optimus Pecker" is a frigging cool name.

Oh. My. Pecker is cooperating with authorities and...
We are not going to need reality TV. This is going to be insane. Like, I mean, quite literally insane.
Also, there are a ton of pecker jokes floating around today, and there will be many more before we are done.

Oh, yeah, he totally acts like an innocent guy... I damn near spit out my drink when I saw the clip of him saying, paraphrasing, if I get impeached the economy will collapse. Its kind of fun in a rubber-necking-the-freeway-pile-up kind of way wondering which one of his skeletons is going to catch up to him first. Its going to be glorious to watch.

Did I mention this is only the beginning?
This is what happens when you put a lifelong grifter and pathological liar in the oval office.
There just isn't enough popcorn in the world.

By the way, one of the more loathsome things Trump tweeted to distract from all this: One of my favorite replies: gaild , what say you? I say it's a total racial dogwhistle bullshit conspiracy theory to stir up Duh Base and distract them lest they start to wonder whether, after all, the POTUS is a grifter. (I bet you all think I post all the crazy shit Trump posts on Twitter. I don't. Not by a long shot.) <iframe width="11.199999999999989" height="4.199999999999989" style="position: absolute; width: 11.199999999999989px; height: 4.199999999999989px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 5px; top: 53px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_82270615" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="11.199999999999989" height="4.199999999999989" style="position: absolute; width: 11.2px; height: 4.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 502px; top: 53px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_8640147" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="11.199999999999989" height="4.199999999999989" style="position: absolute; width: 11.2px; height: 4.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 5px; top: 208px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_42286182" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="11.199999999999989" height="4.199999999999989" style="position: absolute; width: 11.2px; height: 4.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 502px; top: 208px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_6157889" scrolling="no"></iframe>

Lest we forget in debating Trump's potential legal liability relating to these payments to porn stars--Trump is a lying liar who lies.

Just curious -- taking aside how this plays out politically and legally -- Does anyone here now doubt that Trump had affairs with Stormy and McDougal? Does anyone here now doubt that Trump, in collaboration with Cohen, made payments to keep those women silent? Taking aside for a moment whether there is definitive proof, do you truly doubt in your heart of hearts that the chief reason Trump wanted to silence the women was the election? If you do genuinely doubt it, what is your explanation for why Trump was seemingly unmotivated to make such payments until just before the election? Keep in mind that historically Trump has not only been pretty oblivious to scandal, but actively helped cultivate his image as a philanderer and womanizer. He actually called tabloids about his own exploits. He didn't start worrying about his image in that direction until, lemme see, it became necessary to court evangelicals. Can I take the silence as a no, no, and no?

Oh, I never doubted those things.
But I still doubt this is going to amount to the iceberg you think it is.
I'm sorry, I know the legal reasons for why this is a Big Deal. But it won't be a Big Deal.
Mueller will not indict, and Congress will not impeach, and celaw will still vote for Trump.
This just isn't going to stick.

Time will tell. But I am happy to go out on a limb on this.
The CFO of the Trump organization has been granted immunity. So has the guy at the National Enquirer with a literal safe full of arguments relating to pay-offs and catch and kill stories. Cohen has documents.
Why do you think these guys requested and received immunity? Why do you think Cohen got a plea deal for 1/20th or so of the time the crimes he admitted to would entail.
Congress may not impeach -- not while Republicans are in power (though I persist in thinking there is some tipping point there, even so, and then November is coming...). Those supporting Trump at this point -- well, what can I say. (But there is much talk of someone primary-ing Trump. I wonder, if that happened, if the c.e.laws would go with Kasich or the like, or Trump?) And Mueller will not indict....while Trump is in office (but he won't be forever...).
But that doesn't make this not a big deal. He and the Republican party are not going to skate from this. November is coming. 2020 is coming. More and more lawsuits and investigations are coming. The guy's entire life is riddled with corruption, and it will out.
I also recall making the bet here on this forum, when the Stormy story first came out, that it was not a nothingburger, was much bigger than "oh, the POTUS had sex with a porn star", and would lead to much bigger things. Many here scoffed. Then Michael Cohen's office was raided--as a direct result of the Stormy affair. Now look where we are. I don't mean I'm psychic or always right -- I just mean that it's pretty clear to me and has always been clear to me that Trump is so very, very dirty on so many levels that it would inevitably eventually out itself.
The Stormy thing was like a loose string on a sweater. Pull it, and you don't remove the string -- you unravel the sweater.
Time will tell which of us is right. I submit that I was right on the Stormy Daniels thing.
