oh, I just saw that last night. I'll never be able to watch the movie again. Jesus, the poor girl. It must have been a horrific, degrading, humiliating experience.
At age 19, as a fledgling actress in 1972, I can understand why she didn't sue their asses then and there. But I wish she had.

Bertolocci:
Wait, what? He doesn't feel guilty but "God [he's] so sorry that [he] can't apologize"? How exactly does that work?
I have to admit that I've never seen the film. And now I never will.

I'm going to have trouble watching Bertolucci and Brando movies, too. They both thought that was OK?

Well, she was just a woman....*
*This is not intended to be funny, it's intended to be a serious commentary on the treatment of women in the film industry, from the casting couch to things like this.

I read another source that stated it was Brando's idea. Problem is I can't find it right now.

this would have been horrifying and inexcusable regardless of the victim, but the fact that she was just a teenager makes it extra horrible for me.

I've never seen the movie, but it's clear they thought it was okay to sacrifice her dignity and control over her own body for their 'art.'
