Advocates for the wall have no grasp of geography, economics, or history. I can't even take their arguments seriously. I actually have relatives (by marriage) that are convinced they should donate, and are convinced that the other 98% of funding will show up any day now. Their grasp of economics is roughly on the level of Ms. AOC.
They've become more delusional about the power of their government than they are about the power of their god... and that's saying a shit-ton. And they're convinced that Trump is the only thing between them and being raped by an invader.
I now treat their rantings the same as any escapee from the looney bin. They have forfeited their right to be taken seriously.

They have forfeited their right to be taken seriously. I can't disagree with that. I also think, if they're backing Trump on all this, they need a new word for themselves besides "conservative". (I favor "Trumpist") There's just nothing about any of this that fits the traditional meaning of "conservative." A huge exorbitantly expensive federal government project that takes private property away and overrides local authorities? Yeah, not so conservative. The GOP has long been an odd marriage behind the small government wonk types, the religious right, and the "Get the brown people out!" types, but this administration has shown just how far many of the former two types are willing to go to cater to the latter.

Well, the stupid thing is over $20 million, though it's not clear how much of that might disappear from people who haven't "opted in" to the changes.
But there are still people donating to it, in amounts ranging from $10 to $100, by and large. I give up...

(It's a year old but oh man, if people were really donating a month's salary, then who can be surprised if quite possibly some of the same people are giving $10-$100 for a wall.)
