Today is the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor that ushered the United Sates into WWII, that eventually led to the defeat of Germany and the Empire of Japan, the objectives that were the catalysts for the creation of the atomic bomb, and event which ushered in the nuclear age, for good and ill. There are, I think, no more surviving combat vets from WWI. Those from WWII are numbering fewer and fewer. But they are still out there. And a number of them are gathering at Pearl Harbor today: www.wsj.com/articles/pearl-harbor-survivors-gather-for-75th-anniversary-reunion-1481106611That will be 12:55 pm, EST. I humbly suggest taking a minute off.

Seems like it's worth taking a minute off to mark two hours that changed the world.

On a side note, today is also the day that my twin daughters came home from the hospital 18 years ago.
