The main thing I've learned from this debate is that Joe Biden has apparently authored or co-authored every major piece of legislation over the past 40 years. Very impressive.

Ha, I was just telling a friend that we should make a drinking game for every time Bernie says "billionaires" or every time Joe Biden brags that he's talked to every world leader who is mentioned on stage. Right after I said that, while Bernie was talking about Obama, Biden yelled out, "I talked to Obama!" I can't play this game. I'd die of alcohol poisoning in less than 10 minutes.

Buttigieg: “We're not going to win these critical, critical House and Senate races if people in those races have to explain why the nominee of the Democratic Party is telling people to look at the bright side of the Castro regime.”
I'm sure that was a pre-planned line, but I laughed out loud.

Bernie got creamed on that issue, his past praising of authoritarian regimes. He desperately tried to claim that he never praised such regimes, but clips of him doing exactly that are popping up all over.
In my view, only Buttigieg and Klobuchar presented well last night. Biden would have probably won the debate though if he hadn't felt the need to brag so much, because his comment that he was the only one who actually stopped talking when he was asked to was spot on. Warren and Sanders were worse than Gore was against Bush.
Also, while I know this debate is for the Dem nomination and therefore isn't really about attracting voters like me, I gotta say that the education question REALLY turned me off:
The Federal Government isn't in charge of the education system. It just isn't. Really, I'm pissed at the moderator for asking such a dippy question to begin with.

Watching the debate right now and Biden just seriously said/implied that 150 million people in the US have died from gun-related deaths since 2007. That would be roughly 1/3 of the entire population. I'm pretty sure we would've noticed that if it were true. I think Biden is confusing "guns" with "Thanos." Also, why is Steyer even there? Full disclosure, I stole your Thanos line on twitter. It's gotten 46 likes and 2 retweets.

If you paid me $2k, I'd sit there for these shenanigans. Toss in another $1k if you want me to behave.

I have no evidence of this, but I'm convinced (as others have said) that Bloomberg bussed in a large number of "fans" and paid for them to sit in the crowd and cheer for him (even his dumb jokes) and boo Sanders. I'm thinking he stacked the audience deck to make him look better given the trouncing he got in the last debate. It didn't work.

Huh, odd that Warren didn't mention that her Secretary of Education was going to be selected by a fictitious 9-year-old transgender elementary school child.

Yeah, weak stuff. Sad thing is, his supporters will ignore it and I doubt outlets like MSNBC would even air that.
I really worry about whether he is in the early stages of dementia.
