I personally find Biden's gaffes hilarious. From what I understand, a large part of his problem lies in a lifelong speech impediment (stuttering) which leads to many of his gaffes.
I don't take them too seriously.

I think Biden's gaffes are funny as hell, like him telling the guy in a wheelchair to stand up, him talking about FDR going on TV to reassure people on Black Friday, and so on. But in my view, some of the more recent stuff is qualitatively different. The bit with him talking about how he's running for Senate, for instance, just feels off to me. And for that matter, it looks off, Biden looks off in that clip and in a number of other ones.
Maybe there's nothing here, maybe it's just a consequence of him campaigning so hard and of his age in general, and not indicative of something worse. But I'm personally concerned, especially since I'm prepared to vote for Biden if he's the Dem nominee.

And for that matter, it looks off, Biden looks off in that clip and in a number of other ones. Yeah, I think there's also an issue of Biden being so known for gaffes that actual cases of dishonesty get somewhat lost in the mix. I'm happy to chalk up the FDR bit as something more comical than sinister, whereas the bit about getting arrested in South Africa seems like flat out BS. Another example (much worse, IMO): Biden claimed multiple times that his wife and child were killed by a drunk driver. But I have a real problem with that claim, because there's an actual person who's reputation is at stake here (the other driver survived the crash but died years later), and politicians shouldn't be smearing private citizens in order to make their personal stories sound more tragic. And I have a tough time seeing that as some sort of gaffe, some sort of unintended mistake (which was made more than once, in this case). In some ways, Biden actually reminds me of Trump, in the sense of being someone who isn't very careful when they speak, who doesn't think it's important to be accurate, and doesn't see the importance of doing better in the future because their supporters will never get tired of brushing it off. I don't think I find that very reassuring. Campaigning is hard work, but so is being president (and he's only gonna get older, just like all of us.) So if that's causing him problems, he probably shouldn't be fooling himself into thinking he should be president. Then again, he's a Democratic insider who's been around for decades, so I'm sure he feels a certain amount of entitlement to the office, similar to HRC.

So, Bernie has now dropped out and we're stuck with the possible dementia patient as the presumptive nominee. Christ, this is two elections in a row that the Dems have put forward the absolute worst candidate possible.
On a side note, why is it that whenever anyone drops out, they never say that they're "ending" their campaign, or "dropping out," or anything that actually makes sense. They always say they're "suspending" their campaign. "Suspending" means that the stoppage is temporary.
It's not, though. All of these people who dropped out literally ended their runs/campaigns. Everyone knows this.
I just don't understand the shifty, non-committal language in these situations.

Actually, I believe the reason they suspend their campaign is that they continue to fundraise and they can't end their campaign and still do that. Many have huge bills that they need to raise money for so their workers get paid. So it's a legal thing. Like how someone is an alleged killer even if they surrender to the police, confess their crime holding a USB with a video of the killing in one hand, and the severed head in the other.
But yeah. I would have voted blue this year if the Dems put forward someone reasonable. I WILL NOT vote for Biden. I won't vote Trump either. I don't know what the hell I'm doing now.

The real question is, will you vote for kamala Harris?
Personally I won't.

Christ, this is two elections in a row that the Dems have put forward the absolute worst candidate possible. Agree. I'm already looking forward to them running Michael Bloomberg in 2024.

I got an email from some group affiliated with the DNC. I've gotten from the GOP and DNC. Asking a question and then usually asking for a donation. Not sure why I'm on the list as I've never donated to either party. Anywho, this was what I got including the choices in a poll.
Vincent – at the most recent Democratic debate, Joe Biden promised that he would choose a woman to be his vice president if he wins the Democratic presidential nomination.
Now that Sanders has dropped out and Joe Biden is the presumptive nominee, we're just one election away from having our first woman vice president!
Because of this news, we wanted to reach out to top Democrats to see who they want to hold this historic position, but we still need another 17 responses from 12866 before midnight. Please tell us: Which woman do you want to be our next vice president?
Stacey Abrams Kamala Harris Amy Klobuchar Elizabeth Warren Other

We were one election away from having our first woman vice president when McCain was running for President. But I'mm guessing the DNC wasn't pulling for that result...
But I still think it's inconsequential. Picking a woman as VP won't help Biden win the election. He'll do that--or not do that--on his own merits.*
* Assuming Biden is the nominee, which isn't an absolute given.

He only made the promise to score woke points anyway. It was a dumb promise to make, but he's also a very dumb person, so...
From the list in Vincent's email, my first inclination would be to say "none of the above," but I think Klobuchar would be a decent pick.
I have no idea why progressives love Stacey Abrams so much. She lost her election and wasn't all that great of a candidate, then she and her supporters did nothing but whine that the election was stolen from her. What about her is so impressive to the far-left? Is it because she ticks off multiple boxes of "oppression" on the intersectionality form that progressives apparently have to fill out before they can join Twitter?
