So, it basically WAS a set-up.
2020 keeps getting weirder.

I just love the delicious irony of a lawmaker claiming ignorance of the law.
Anyway, what's Cuomo's excuse?

I would say this is bad optics, but it seems most people don't have a problem with it:
He offers the mic to Harris so she can take some questions and she just shuts it down with a "I think we're all done here." It's pretty rude, imo. But she then tosses out some pointless banter as she's cleaning up her stuff, "I once lived in Wisconsin, did you know that?"
But again, most reports on the "roundtable" seem uninterested in her rudeness, so what do I know.

But its obvious she's a top-tier candidate, and Trump is polling at what, like 1%?

Look at this shit:
That tweet is screaming out to me, personally, that I'd better not vote for any Democrats. How in the world is a New Green Deal going to prevent these fires?

How in the world is a New Green Deal going to prevent these fires? I suppose it depends on who's starting these fires (allegedly )

Given that the current blaze is the result of one of those idiotic "gender reveal parties," I'm not really sure how climate change is to blame. On a side note, gender reveal parties are incredibly stupid. Nobody cares whether your unborn child has a dick except you. Knowing the genitalia of a fetus should not be treated as a bigger deal than the actual birth. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/09/08/california-gender-reveal-fire/

I saw that. Made me think of Reagan's use of Born in the USA. Here's a piece at Reason, that's about contradictions on the Left and the Right, when it comes to popular music, activism, and patriotism: reason.com/2000/10/01/rage-on/It's a good read, opening with a critique of Rage Against the Machine and continuing on to mock people like Bill Bennett. It has this little bit on Born in the USA and Reagan: I think that's a pretty good take. And it's absolutely true that using products in unintended ways applies to things like music. CCR is one of my favorite bands. I know all their stuff. So does my son, who has most of their albums on vinyl. The music and lyrics of the band (Fogerty) are memorable and often poignant. Fortunate Son is a prime example. I know exactly what the lyrics say and mean (as I do with Born in the USA), and as such I know that form the perspective of a of people, I could fairly be seen as a target of those lyrics (hell, these days anyone who is white could be seen as a target). But that doesn't change my love of the song at all, not one bit. Like Born in the USA, it's catchy. Really, it's even more upbeat. I'm betting that this particular faux pas will be such only for the TDS crowd. For me, it's meh. For the Trump supporters, well, they're not listening to anyone else, are they? And people forget that Clinton did pretty well with Don't Stop (Fleetwood Mac). A helluva song and a brilliant move by Clinton, to be sure, but drilling down into the song wouldn't make the choice look good (not that this would matter to most people and not that anyone did).

Oh look,it happened again:
The Left twitter (it's like Twix: Left twitter and Right twitter, too sides who imagine they're so very different but are pretty much the same) is bedside itself with glee, because "gay." But that song is so iconic now at parties, weddings, etc., I don't think anybody cares. It's just a "get pumped up" song, nothing more.
Part of me wonders if Trump isn't running one Kaufman bit after another on all of us.
