In the Steelers-Browns game last night, there was a bit of a tussle in the waning moments:

Supposedly, Mason Rudolph will not be suspended but will be fined.
That's interesting.
The video of the incident is pretty clear: Garrett tackled Rudolph as Rudolph threw the ball. Garrett held on to finish the tackle in what could very easily be seen as unnecessary roughness. A dick move, to be sure. Rudolph then proceeded tussle with Garrett and try to rip his helmet off. Garrett responded--as other players became involved by ripping Rudolph's helmet off. Rudolph came at Garrett again and Garrett whacked Rudolph over the head with Rudolph's own helmet. Pouncey started throwing punches and tried to kick Garrett in the head while Garrett was on the ground. Ogunjobi came in late and shoved Rudolph to the ground.
I can get behind all three suspensions: Garrett's actions were far and away the worst. He attacked Rudolph with a weapon, really. End his season; that's fair. Ogunjobi getting three games is fair, given that he was throwing punches and kicking. And Pouncey took a cheap shot at the end of it all, though a shove is never going to be a punch; one game for him.
But what about Rudolph? He may have been pissed that Garrett finished the tackle unnecessarily, but that happens all the damn time. Going for Garrett's helmet was--imo--also over the line and deserves at least a one game suspension.
But no.
One might note that of the four players involved here--all of whom acted violently and against the rules of the game--only the white one wasn't suspended. He's just going to pay a fine...

Myles Garrett will not play again this season, and maybe longer.
The NFL announced Friday that the Cleveland Browns defensive end has been suspended for the rest of this season, including the playoffs should the Browns make it, and will have to meet with the commissioner's office before being reinstated in 2020.

The NFL also suspended Browns defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi one game for shoving Rudolph in the back and to the ground, shortly after Garrett had slugged the Steelers quarterback in the head with the helmet. Pittsburgh center Maurkice Pouncey, who jumped into Garrett, kicking and punching him after Rudolph had been struck, was suspended three games.
All three players -- who were ejected from Thursday's game, a 21-7 victory for Cleveland -- are suspended without pay and will be fined. In addition, the NFL has fined the Browns and Steelers organizations $250,000 each for the incident.
