This is--imo--a stupid take: www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/sep/05/jessica-krug-symptom-bigger-problem-blackness-appropriatedIt's a take that seeks to reserve racial victimhood, imo. We absolutely should vilify Krug. And Dolezal. And Cole. And yes, Warren. They all "appropriated" culture to serve their own interests. But they didn't just appropriate culture, they fucking lied (to varying degrees, to be sure), they claimed to be things that they are not. The fact of the matter is that people appropriate culture all the damn time. The only time it seems to be a problem is when it's being done by white people. No one bitches about it when it's going the other way. I'm not whining about POCs drinking scotch or eating steak. And POCs are allowed to not only own stock, but also work at brokerages. And if that's not enough, they freely play and win golf and tennis tournaments. And don't get me started with the clothes. From Polo to Victoria's Secret, they're wearing EVERYTHING...

Look Rob, I get it. I really do, but that's your privlidge talking. Sure, what they did was what you and I would call lying. And normally, when someone lies, we call them a liar.
But those professors all identify as someone who tells the truth. Therefore, to call them out on their lies, going so far as to call them liars, is paramount to violence against them, for failing to recognize their innerself.
Now, where is that cancel button. Did we ever install that?

What does it mean to "consume and appropriate blackness?"
That's just nonsensical gobbledygook.
