This is an interesting piece at Axios: Exclusive: Suspected Chinese spy targeted California politiciansIt's kind of a blueprint for infiltration, actually. It's mostly focused on Eric Swalwell and how this suspected spy got in bed with him (figuratively and literally, according to some), though Swalwell doesn't seem to have done anything wring, apart from being a clueless dupe with yellow fever. But I think the totality of this picture, what is outlined, is actually typical stuff for "spies." I would bet CIA operatives follow this same basic gameplan, when worming their way into the power structure of other countries. Still, it's an interesting read (and a good resource for writers).

Good stuff. This part really made me laugh: Riiiiiiiiiiight. But hey, I can't blame the guy too much for not asking more follow-up questions.

a clueless dupe with yellow fever. Based on my dating history, I feel like I should make this my Twitter bio.
