Has anyone watched this before?
I'm a huge fan of the Mass Effect video game series. Despite the issues with ME3, overall the series is still my all-time favorite. Amazing story in the first two games.
Anyway, I kept hearing comparisons between the story of Mass Effect and The Expanse. Not direct 1-to-1 comparisons, just that some story elements and the mood of the two were very similar.
So, decided to start watching it this weekend and it's pretty good. The tone kinda reminds me a bit of the Robert Moore "Battlestar Gallactica" on SyFy from about 15 years ago (Geez, has it been that long already?).
Anyway, anyone else seen it? If you haven't and you like sci-fi, I recommend it.

The Expanse TV series is the best Sci-Fi that's been on the little screen in quite some time. I highly recommend the book series as well.

I really liked the first season, but lost interest during the second.
Also, I'm a little cautious when it comes to getting involved with sci-fi series. They seem to fall apart (Orphan Black) or get cancelled with cliff-hangers (Dark Matter). Probably the Mal Reynolds in me...

Yeah, I'm in the middle of season 4 and it is starting to taper off for me in terms of holding my interest. Part of that might also just be because I've been binging it and even that can get boring after a while. I probably just need to take a break for a few days.
Sometimes the slow-moving plot is a good thing but after a while it starts to become kinda boring. In a way, the pacing kind of reminds me of the old Dragon Ball Z cartoons, where it would literally take 20 episodes just for a fight between Goku and Frieza to even start. Just get on with it!
Even though Battlestar Galactica (the Ron Moore version) missed the mark a little bit in its last season, I think it's still the best scifi of the past 2 decades. The Expanse is good, but it ain't BSG-level good.
I'll probably catch up to where they are in season 5 of Expanse this weekend.
