Yeah, as I would suspect, it sounds like the girl who complained is full of shit, simply lying to make her bullshit version of the story sound more damning against him and cast her as some sort of hero. Which is pretty much the modus operandi of young woke victimhood dipshits.

This isn't about the NYT, but it's the same sort of thing. Teen Vogue hired Alexi McCammond as it's new editor-in-chief (she's 27, fyi, and got in some hot water at Axios because she was dating someone in the Biden Admin, who ended up threatening to "destroy" another reporter), bit apparently didn't do a deep enough dive into her social media history, because: Of course, she is--herself--a young poc, so we'll see if she actually gets forced out here. Because we all know that if she was a 40 year old white dude and this was happening, she's be done.

The War on Taylor Lorenz: Uh-huh. In a prep for what is coming, Taylor tosses this out: And in a response to her own tweet, she pimps herself for like the gazllionth time today: Here's Greenwald's takedown (and yeah, it's obvious he think's she's crap): greenwald.substack.com/p/criticizing-public-figures-including

Lorenz is a total clown and I'm not at all surprised by her pulling the "I'm a woman being harassed by incels on the internet! Feel sorry for me!" bullshit. She's repeatedly demonstrated that she's an awful person but when she gets called on it, it's victimhood mentality all the way. Screw her and screw the NYT woke cowards and tools her immediately run to her defense when she doesn't deserve it, yet allow a huge list of quality people from there get fired, cancelled, or quit because of the toxic environment in that dipshit dystopia.
I don't always agree with Greenwald, and he has engaged in the same type of "I'm a victim!" crap at least once or twice in the past, but he's completely right on this point and given all that he's been through in his professional and personal life, it's pretty clear he gives zero fucks about what Lorenz or anyone else says about him. She's garbage, the NYT is mostly garbage, and I'm 100% here for watching Greenwald and others continue to go at them hard in the paint.

I'm really cynical here: I don't think Lorenz feels victimized at all. I think she's eating this shit up because it makes her seem important. Given that she's been caught lying and fabricating things multiple times, but has no problem moving forward, it seems to me that the criticism and abuse she catches just rolls off of her, which is either a huge credit to her for being able to take it, or an indicator that's she's got that ol' dark triad thing going on...

Look at this idiot:
He's complaining about Greenwad, Weiss, and others who criticize journalists by lumping them all together, giving them a cute group name ("substackarati"), then criticizing them. Ass.

Oh, definitely agree. She weaponizes her victimhood to get attention for herself. It's been her shtick for years but recently she seems to be ramping it up to new levels. I'd say it's dark triad.

Is this an example of the far-left eating itself?

Yeah, just say this. Absolutely, she got burned by things she would have gleefully used against someone else, imo.

I saw Wood tweeting about this yesterday. He's usually a pretty good writer and seems rather fair-minded. But he's been tweeting about this like he's Chicken Little and the sky just suddenly started falling. No idea why he's clutching his pearls so tightly for this one instance, given how many countless times now it's happened to other people, but his histrionics about this specific story are odd, to say the least.
It seems he either thinks this is the only example of "unfairly being canceled for old tweets" that is legitimate or he's been living in ignorance under a big pile of rocks for the past several years and has no clue that this has been pretty standard fare on woke Twitter for the past several years.
