Yeah, it's the absoluteness and egregious overgeneralization of the statement that I was poking fun at.
If we take the statement literally, then it's demonstrably false. If we take it more loosely and metaphorically, then it's still partly wrong but the parts of it that are right are unremarkable common knowledge.
So, no matter which way you slice it, it's yet another rhetorical failure by Biden or his team for the sake of cynically scoring some bullshit woke points with the Twitter bluechecks.

Remember how there would be these occasional reports about Fidel Castro or Kim Jong-Il having died? Then no one would know what to think for a few days since the official state media would essentially ignore any such report? Then--as if by magic--new video of the leader in question would get sent out by the state media of the leader visiting a farm or a school, or having Very Important Meetings?
Yeah, well...

Uh..."yeah, well" what? Was there a tweet or a vid that you intended to include in that, or are you just musing about not seeing Biden in a while? lol

Just musing. Maybe it's partly because Trump seemed omni-present, one way or another, but I'm barely aware that Biden is President, these days.

Seriously, this makes me sad:
There's no way he's going to legitimately make it through four years, imo.

To be fair, this type of implicitly racist view of black people is rather common among many "well-meaning" progressives. Which, to me, is a bit hilarious because they often bitch about so-called "systemic racism" in one breath yet in the next breath project a "white savior" mindset. Constantly portraying black people as poor victims who are all unemployed, undereducated, on drugs, living in poor ghettos, victims of violent crimes, can't get ID, can't get to the voting booths, etc. I often wonder if many progressives actually know any black people or if they're aware that millions of middle and upper class black people do exist in the US (not saying that Biden is progressive but he often flirts with it). The source of this video is obviously biased (so take with a grain of salt), but I think he does do a good job of illustrating the implicitly "benevolent racism" among a lot of the progressives (I'm pretty left-leaning, but thankfully I'm not as dumb and out of touch with reality as the Dems in this video). Seriously, listen to how they talk about them ("these people"). For example, when it comes to the myth that minority voters don't have IDs, do they think that black people have never purchased alcohol or driven a car before?

Well, I'll admit that his answer was a bit dickish and impolitic. But, having also spent over 20 years in the restaurant industry, at all levels (including running several restaurants), I can tell you that any restauranteur that has a clue what they're doing can absolutely afford to pay their staff livable wages, including paying their wait staff much more than $2.13/hour (Herman Cain's fault).
If they can't, then they deserve to go out of business for being shitty, greedy bosses. It wasn't the wisest thing, politically, for Biden to say, but there's absolutely a certain truth to it. I know a lot of people from the restaurant industry who did all they could during the pandemic to get out of it in the hopes of never having to return. And, given how thankless, low-paying, and shitty that industry is, I don't blame them at all. I did the same thing.

Luckily, there are millions of recent undocumented immigrants in this country who will happily do the jobs that Americans won't do.
