DeSantis has been positioning himself as a potential Pres candidate, especially over the past year. I can't find a link, but I read somewhere yesterday that he beat Trump in a poll of GOP voters out west, so it'll be interesting to see if Trump is still as popular as he thinks he is when he jumps back into the race.
I'm guessing the Dems will stick with Biden but he and Harris are such terrible candidates, I fear the only way they'll win again in 2024 is if the GOP nominate someone truly loathsome again. That's not a great way to win or a good strategy. The Dems seem to be losing not only on the economic front right now but they seem to be getting their asses kicked on so-called "culture war" type stuff. Those two topics seem to be the most motivating for getting people out to the polls so if the Dems don't (as a party) shift dramatically in their approach to those two topics, they're at risk for another big ass whooping at the polls not only this fall but in 2024 as well.

I saw this interesting thread about the Boudin recall on Twitter, where Zaid Jilani cites a significant push in the Asian American community in these recent recall efforts:

I've got a lot of problems with DeSantis. But choosing between him and Trump is pretty damn easy. Likewise, between him and the current POTUS.
That said, I'm still holding out hope that both parties will fix their shit by 2024 and nominate functioning human beings for the Presidential Election. I know, I'm a dreamer...

LOLOLOLOLOL: Why California Voters Recalled Chesa BoudinShort version: "fickle public too stupid to give Bodin's policies enough time to take effect." It's tools like this clown who are largely responsible for what now seems to be the inevitable tanking of the Dems in the mid terms.

It's tools like this clown who are largely responsible for what now seems to be the inevitable tanking of the Dems in the mid terms. I love that framing like this completely avoids any kind of self-reflection or taking of responsibility. It's not that "these policies suck," it's that Dems failed to win people over to them. Um...just a suggestion to the progressives out there...but perhaps the reason Dems failed to win people over to the policies is, specifically, because those policy ideas are incredibly fucking stupid and don't work in the real world. I don't blame people for not wanting to live in a city (world) where the DA gives a green light to scumbags out there to engage in blatant shoplifting and burglary because the DA thinks it's too much effort to prosecute theft under $900 (or whatever the limit was). Ask Walgreens, CVS, and small business owners whether they think Boudin's progressive bullshit makes for good law enforcement policy. www.wsj.com/articles/san-francisco-shoplifters-theft-walgreens-decriminalized-11634678239

Surprisingly, I'm in agreement with their forecasts. Republicans should have easily won both the Senate and the House, but some of their Senate candidates in tight races are amazingly weak. I mean Herschel Walker....c'mon man!

Not sure how the Roe to overturn will play into the midterms.
And then there's this.

Lol, that's some serious Carvillian Politics. Though I do seem to remember a lot of whiny hand-wringing from Dems during "Operation Chaos." This is no better. But hey, whatever it takes at the end of the day. Gonna suck mightily if Gibbs wins.

Ha, guess we'll remember that next time a Democrat loses an election and tries to blame it on "a campaign funded by rich, out-of-district donors."
Because, of course, they never bitch about it when they win due to those circumstances (e.g., just look at how much money AOC raises. Overwhelming majority of it comes from out of state).

Hank Johnson: still a moron. Watch this clip:
Johnson is comparing people upset with various schoolboards--like in Loudon County, Va.--with the January 6th rioters. Lol, ass.
