Ugh, the Left often really are the Kings and "Yas Queens!" of Cringe.
I really don't get it. They often have the objectively better policies* but run the most incompetent, cringey, disastrous campaigns.
It's been the case for at least the past decade and I really don't understand how they can be so consistently inept.
*not always, but most of the time, at least in a "Pareto Improvement" kind of way (then again, I'm a Dem so probably a little biased on this)

Actual tweet clearly designed to mitigate the impact of crime on the midterms:
Well as long as only murder is up...

Ugh. Yes, once you ignore the violentest of violent crimes (murder), then violent crime hasn't change...I guess? Or something. The issue here is that the crimes that have gone down are the ones that are the least likely to be reported anyway (e.g., assault, aggravated assault). Also, crime is a local-level issue. Crime may have gone down in places like the middle of Nowhere, Wyoming but it's risen quite sharply in major cities like NYC, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Good link.
Robbery may have gone down in San Fran because it's essentially legal there.
