You've all heard the story by now: Buzzfeed released what is allegedly the dossier in question. Besides claims that the Trump campaign had secret contacts with Moscow, it also alleges that Russian intelligence has evidence that Trump engaged in some pretty scandalous romps with prostitutes, including some...er...waterplay. As of now, none of the allegations have been confirmed or disproved. But hell, that doesn't stop us from guessing, does it? So why not have a poll -- do we think any of this stuff will turn out to be for realsies, or not?

My own guess -- though it is only a guess, and he and his campaign are innocent of these allegations until proven guilty -- is that some of the information is true. I say this mostly because the source is apparently sufficiently credible to John McCain and others to make it worth passing on and discussing with Trump.
Honestly, it's not at all difficult for me to picture Trump having romps with prostitutes. And it's not all that difficult for me to imagine someone, somewhere, on Trump's campaign taking some information from Russian contacts that might be helpful to Trump.
However, I'm guessing that much of the stuff in the dossier also turns out to be false and/or unverifiable.
And I'm guessing that unless (perhaps) every word turns out to be true and proven so with indisputable evidence, it doesn't hurt Trump one bit.
ETA:
I will also add this, assuming any of the info turns out to be true:
As far as the prostitute stuff goes, I'd find it embarrassing that the president had engaged in such exploits, but I'd consider it primarily Melania's business and not mine. I just don't care all that much about sexual exploits as a political matter, provided they are between consenting adults (and not against the law the political figure is supposed to be upholding).
As far as the conspiring with Russia on the election goes, if it was confined to people on Trump's campaign and not Trump himself, the guilty party or parties should bear the punishment, and Trump should immediately condemn the action and distance himself. If it were to turn out that Trump had knowledge of it, though, I'd be expecting to hear calls for impeachment.

I think John McCain is slipping away from reality. He's also a serious attention whore. Not in Trump's league, but he's definitely a pro.

So -- would that be a vote for "the whole thing is fake"?
(That wouldn't shock me either, by the way.)

I don't know. Trump was linked with that scumbag Jeffrey Epstein, after all. Of course, so was Bill Clinton. And nothing would surprise me, when it comes to people who run in these circles.
But frankly, I think it's probably just as likely--if not moreso--that Trump has dossiers full of dirt on all of these other people, Putin included. After all, he was--until recently--a background force in politics, a manipulator as it were.

I've been trying to get a read on it. I did read a piece on my phone from National Review, who was a big part of the Never Trump movement before the primary ended, and they seem to doubt it. www.nationalreview.com/corner/443756/why-you-should-doubt-salacious-trump-espionage-memoMy work computer doesn't want to let me get on that article for very long, and I only skimmed it on the phone. I haven't read the buzzfeed stuff. Was Trump the one giving or receiving the golden showers, cause I can't see him being willing to take one. Beyond that, like the Clinton stuff, those who hate him will believe it no matter what. Those who love him, won't unless they see it with their own eyes, and then they'll excuse it. Me, I'm not sure. If somehow this proved to be true, or at least embarrassing enough that Trump passed on the white house, it would be Pence that took over even though he's not sworn in yet? Any chance of a special election?

At this point, Pence would become President.

Either way, I'm going with a 12-18 month spread of:
1) impeachment 2) assassination 3) nervous breakdown

If nothing else, wee will be able to collect a stream of crappy puns from this dossier.

"Buzzfeed" - sigh. Why did it have to be through Buzzfeed?
What really makes me shudder is that it doesn't matter. There's no pleasing his opponents, and there's no shaking his support. It would appear that he's now inoculated against scandal.
It's terrifying that no news is credible news anymore; the corollary is that anything flung skyward *might* be true.
On the other hand, the other view of this is that maybe now people will become as discerning about news sources as we should have been all along.

My only quibble might be to insert a "some" in your last sentence ("maybe some people will become as discerning..."). Because, alas, I imagine many will continue to devour news from dubious sources. Yes, I agree Buzzfeed is a suspect source. That said, I haven't yet seen anyone coming out and denying it is in fact the dossier McCain passed on to the FBI.

Heh. One allegation in the dossier is that Trump's lawyer, Michael Cohen, met with Russian operatives in Prague. Cohen denies it, and produced his passport to prove he'd never been to Prague. Only, heh, that doesn't actually prove anything one way or the other. As a frequent traveler in the EU, I can tell you that if you're traveling between EU countries, you probably won't get your passport stamped. I've been on numerous trips where I traveled between countries and never got a stamp except upon arriving in the initial country by airport. If Cohen's passport shows that he hadn't been to Europe at all during that time period, that would prove something. But if he went to, say, Germany or Austria at the time in question, pfft, it's a 4-5 hour or so train ride from either Berlin or Vienna to Prague, if memory serves. ETA: I'm certain this is the case traveling between EU countries by train -- and actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I think it's true if you're flying between them. You'll get a passport stamp at your place of arrival from the U.S. or whatever non-EU country. But not when going from one EU country to another.
