I come from a pastoral farm and have a great passion for politics. Glad I joined! One of the requirements of membership is allowing other members to spend an occasional weekend at said pastoral farm. Thank you!

Yes. Yes, it was. Some of us like sportsballing. Except today. Was that a sportsball reference? That was a sportsball reference, wasn't it? Probably hockey or something. Go team that throws the ball into a net better than another team!

Right then. You may know me as Chrissy. I shall hereinafter be called Christine (unless you want to call me Chrissy). That being said, I wanted my name to be capitalized and I failed in this endeavor. If someone could tell me how to fix it, I'd be most grateful.
In the meantime, I shall be busy composing a rant in response to a particular thread that finally forced me to join. Because you guys seriously need some rants around here. It's very boring.
Just kiddin! I love you all!

Christine, welcome! I'm glad to see you here.
Lord help us all, robo and I are mods. The drill is one you pretty much know -- feisty opinions from all sides welome, but support your points, respect your fellow poster, etc.
It's been largely a lovefest here, despite having liberals, conservatives and libertarians already here, not to mention Clinton, Johnson and Trump voters -- but I think one thing we do share is mutual respect. Also, we're all a little crazy.

Christine? That's a grown-up name. When did letting grown-ups join get approved?

Rolling Thunder, I'd reply with something witty but I can't see your post anymore and now I've forgotten exactly what it said. Something about adulting, so I think a "Nuh-uh!" should do nicely.

Christine? That's a grown-up name. When did letting grown-ups join get approved? That damn robo keeps messing with the settings. He's ruining everything. The default seems to be all lowercase for screen names. I assume this means Haskins or cray are lurking in the server somewhere. But if you go into your profile, you can edit your screenname -- I did. I didn't want to be cassand-raw.

Glad to see you, Christine . Notice how you got a notification I'm talking about you? That's the @(with a person icon) button on the create post menu bar. Also, you can have a screen name different from your user name, also set in your profile. So you can be Chrissy if you want, since RT's so upset about letting adults in here. @cassandraw could even become Cass for casual use if she so desired.

Hello, Don, you old so-and-so.

Your sig line seems entirely appropriate in that case.
(edited to add :greenie)
I'm obviously dependent upon cartoon facial expressions and symbols to communicate

I have always prided myself upon my appropriate sig lines, and am grateful to the kind friends who provide them. And Haggis.
