Any truth to the rumor that ISIS saw the picture of the severed head and is now suing for cultural appropriation???

The only thing lamer than a phony apology is retracting a phony apology.

The only thing lamer than a phony apology is retracting a phony apology. Lame? Yes.
Annoying? Sure.
But it's nothing to lose your head about.

How dare you. That's not funny. I will now proceed to post beheading videos and demand to know if you think those are funny too. (Okay, I won't do that. Because it would be sick. And dark.)

Come on, Amadan. No need to demand Vince's head on a platter.

I think this thread is heading for trouble.

Unrelated: Is Kathy Griffin less funny now than she wasn't before any of this happened?
Her comedic style never appeared to me; I avoid people who act like that.
That said, if people could abide effigies of Obama being hanged, they could abide this. Or they could abide neither.

I am not a fan of either. Neither strikes me as amusing or clever.
Nor was I ever a fan of Kathy Griffin.

Agree on all counts - and I’m reminded how easy it is to conflate messenger and message. I need to take care, all the time.

That said, if people could abide effigies of Obama being hanged, they could abide this. Or they could abide neither. There were effigies of Bush hanged and burned, before Obama. But I don't think many people were abiding them, in either case.

Yeah, it's not a new thing, I suppose. I didn't mean to make it about Obama and Trump, or to imply that it's all one party or the other.
But enough people do abide it that it keeps happening, right?

The effigies were done by average joe blows on the street. I could see someone catching flak for it within their social circle. If I said to everyone here I burned either of those Presidents in effigies, you'd all be perfectly within your rights to take issue with it.
Kathy Griffin is a very public figure. She did this on TV. I have no sympathy for her getting flack for it. I've not liked her for a long time. She suspends rules of decency when she opposes someone politically.
