Ahem. I now have proof that I am not the karma thief at all. maxinquaye is following in Optimus 's evil footsteps and deducting karma points from me. ME. The mod of sunshine and butterfly kisses. Can you imagine? I did what now? Whatever it was that I did, I didn't do it. Not consciously. But maybe all that new twitter real estate is getting to me? Maybe I'm addled now from all the possible bad tweets I can make that go on and on and on and on and... You get the point. |

Pfft. It's mod persecution, pure and simple. It is impossible for mods to be persecuted. You are not a historically marginalized community and you do not suffer from institutional bias. People can dislike mods and call them vindictive, hypocritical meanypants with terrible shoes and Smite them every time they post (I recommend this, actually), but they cannot be persecuted. Check your mod privilege and stop appropriating the suffering of ordinary members. The fact that you have more karma than me is proof that you are a raving power-drunk jackbooted karma thief. |

Something is weird. Poet showed karma 0 on my screen after I gave him karma earlier and he had like 16. I gave him another karma and now he has 1. So to experiment, I gave Don, who was showing 0 karma on my screen, a karma. Now he has 1 karma. I am NOT the karma thief, I swear. FIX IT robeiae |

Okay, so it seems there are some bugs in the Karma system. It's a plug-in that I added, so there's only so much I can do. From what I see, no one has been taking Karma away, right and left. But some people's Karma value has apparently reset to zero.
I added a confirmation window to the process. We'll see if that helps. I also went in and edited some Karma totals that I know were much higher. Remember, Karma is supposed to be a fun thing; it's not their for punitive purposes and no one should be getting upset that some people have more Karma.

Two thumbs up (and a karma point) for the confirmation window. If you're on a mobile device, it was just too easy to hit exalt or smite without even realizing you did it.
I mean, of course karma is just a fun thing. But if you accidentally smite someone while you're having a vigorous debate with them in a thread, it could look peevish and punitive.
