So fellow inmates are throwing food at Bill Cosby. In other news, though he used to be a spokesman for Jello pudding, he apparently never ate any before he went to prison. And he doesn't like it.

Are they throwing pudding? That would be priceless.

I feel relatively confident pudding will eventually be flung, if it has not been flung already.

Not sure where to put this, but I thought it worthy to note: In August: news3lv.com/news/local/four-california-dentists-face-rape-charges-after-alleged-assault-at-wynnFollowing that, the four men were arrested. Pretty horrible, right? Yet, in October: news3lv.com/news/local/four-california-dentists-have-rape-charges-dropped-after-video-contradicts-womans-storyApparently, a cell phone video was the reason for the dismissal. And it was sufficient evidence for the lawyer of the accused to claim that the woman's story was completely fabricated, a claim that has not seen any pushback, from what I can see. I'd really like to know what was on the video, because going from a rape that was "confirmed" by a rape kit to simple dismissal is pretty extreme. Moreover, this four guys have had their pictures splashed all over the place, whereas the woman has not even been named. Seems to me that she should be charged with filing a false report, at the very least.

Moreover, this four guys have had their pictures splashed all over the place, whereas the woman has not even been named. Seems to me that she should be charged with filing a false report, at the very least. I've got a couple of guesses. Early in the evening, I'd buy the "male friend" was just that. At 2:30 AM I'd guess the "male friend" was either a pimp or her husband, and this was either a disagreement about an individual vs. group rate, or a cuckold experiment gone wrong. I think the odds are high that this was a case of amateur gone wrong; if the woman was a pro and the tape proved it, she'd probably have charges filed against her already. Instead, we have four guys whose names were drug through mud quietly walking away. My guess is that Mr. and Mrs. Adventurous Visitors are back in Peoria by now, scared to death her name will leak and they'll be ostracized by their church group, while wondering how paying off those four dudes for silence is going to impact their retirement plans.

That's pretty bad, dang. Although I saw an interview with one accuser on the news last night that made my wife and I raise an eyebrow. Basically she said, "I don't remember anything about that night I was so drunk, then we had sex, and now I think it wasn't consensual." As a criminal attorney (pun intended) that's a tough charge to prove either way.

Just a note about this. I don't know about this school, but in many schools faculty misconduct uses very different rules. Under old Title IX, lawyers allowed to speak on behalf of clients, cross allowed, clear & convincing evidence required. New rules say schools can choose, but it has to be the same for faculty and students. Add into that the behind closed doors approach, you'll have a case where popular professors don't get held accountable.

On a related note, the ACLU just lost a long-time supporter. I never thought I'd see the day they'd consider due process a bad thing.

That novel-length justification just convinces me that he totally knew he was creeping on them. Basically he was putting it on the table ("restrained but genuine affection"? "wine & cheese"? Come on...) but leaving himself some plausible deniability.
Being such a dork probably turned them off more than if he'd just made a straightforward advance.

www.cnn.com/2018/12/19/entertainment/eliza-dushku-bull-michael-weatherly/index.htmlI've never watched Bull, but was a big fan of NCIS back in the day. Interestingly, Weatherly's character from NCIS behaved pretty much the way he seems to have behaved on the Bull set. And people--fans of the show--loved him for it, men and women. His sexually-driven banter with Cote de Pablo was part of the reason why NCIS did so well, imo. But obviously, not everyone is going to feel the same way.
