As I write this, the #3 "Top Story" on the CNN homepage is this: www.cnn.com/2016/11/24/politics/democrats-things-to-be-thankful-for/index.html"9 things Democrats have to still be thankful for" Aside from the painful grammar, did this guy really make a "top 9" list--using pseudo analysis--of angst-pacifying bits for Democrats? And of course it's not even classified as "opinion" (a problem shared by pretty much every news site, these days). One of the "reasons": Twitter. Wait, what? Dems should be thankful for twitter? His reasoning is just too painful for me to even post. Read it for yourself. Another gem: Demographics. We've been hearing that song for a full decade, now. We heard it going into 2010, and we all know what happened then. In this election, Dems lost more governorships, more state houses, and made only small gains in the House and the Senate. When, exactly, are these legendary demographics going to come into play? Hey, but Sheriff Joe Arpaio lost his spot. There is that, I guess. But seriously, make it an even ten next time.

Haven't read it yet, but any Democrat going on about demographics hasn't been watching the trends among millennials very closely.

Well, when the ninth thing to be thankful for is about a county sheriff election, where do you go from there? Bragging about a county dogcatcher? Maybe somebody liberal got a seat on a nonpartisan water board? And several of the others are only hiding the storm clouds behind rose-colored glasses. I think the author was very skilled, or something, to make it to nine.
Another fine example of why Democrats lost. I think the average voter is far more in touch with reality than many of the voices we've been hearing from the left for a long time, and particularly since the election. I think there were a lot of reluctant Clinton voters like Cass who are now less on-the-fence than they were before the tantrums started.
The whole ball game is the Republicans to lose, now. Of course, I'm sure they'll do that, in short order.

I'm starting to get the impression that there are a lot of university humanities programs out there offering courses on "Professional Straw Grasping."

When I went to college in the mid-seventies, there were classes I wondered about. Looking at some of the courses today, I would not be surprised. Even then, many of the instructors on campus were way out of touch with the real world.

Yeah. When you can only come up with 9, and these are the 9...maybe don't write the article. This is just sad.
