Heh. Hard to purge people who are trying to run away...
By the way, didn't Trump say he hired the "best people" first time around? What do you get after you purge the "best people"?

He's probably trying to get out ahead of the story and spin the likely impending resignations as actually him "cleaning house."

As part of my services in this thread, I will occasionally translate a Trump tweet. I am particularly well-equipped to translate this one:
Translation: "one of my lawyers just quit. The others I've approached have said they're conflicted out or aren't the right ones to handle it, or explained that it would take months to get up to speed on the case (months that I may not have, and that in any case would cost a fortune). So I'm in the insane position of being the President of the United States, yet unable to find a halfway decent lawyer willing to take my case. Also, it is 7:40 a.m. on a Sunday and I have been tweeting since 6:10 a.m. Also, I am beginning to fear I am totally fucked, and if so, I'm bringing the rest of you down with me."

You all know by now I have some trouble grokking how religious folks can actively defend and support our current lying, cheating, fornicating, 7-deadly-sins-embodying president. But some Christians take their support to another level entirely:
Let's be clear about this: every President prior to this one was a practicing christian of one denomination or another. This one didn't and doesn't attend any church, says he's never asked God for forgiveness at any time, regularly says stuff that Jesus would abhor -- do tell me how he is more faith-friendly than any other president (let alone all of them).
Let me guess. Gorsuch.
ETA:
To be clear, as an atheist, I want my President to defend the right to freedom of religion rather than be "faith-friendly". But I'll be damned if I can see how anyone can defend this guy as the most faith-friendly president the U.S. has ever had.

Two more top laywers decline to join the Trump team... www.thedailybeast.com/dan-webb-and-tom-buchanan-latest-lawyers-to-decline-to-join-donald-trumps-legal-teamI'm sure many lawyers are indeed conflicted out -- expecially given just how many lawyers the rest of Trump's team is needing to hire. That said, I am confident that a bigger issue is Trump's well-known reputation for not paying, contradicting his lawyers' advice, and making idiots out of those around him. The first is a problem, of course, especially since it would be very easy to rack up millions of dollars in billable hours on his legal problems. But even taking that aside, even assuming he pays, no matter how much he's paying, the latter two are a problem. Good lawyers, the caliber Trump needs, value their reputations as their greatest asset. A client who goes rogue and makes them look like assholes or liars? Not so good for that reputation. (Let's not even get into the stress level it would involve to have a client like Trump, and one who also happened to be POTUS.) There is literally no amount of money that would convince me to take on a client like Trump -- and that's for reasons that don't have anything to do with his politics. There's a reason Trump used clowns like Cohen.

Portraits in courage:
Trump had a phone call with (now former) VA Secretary Shulkin. Says nothing about firing him. Then fires him via tweet and has Kelly call him.

So. The POTUS is trying to take down a successful company because its founder and CEO owns an independently run newspaper that has given unfavorable coverage to said toddler-in-chief. So he falsely accused the newspaper of being a lobbyist, falsely accused the company of not paying taxes, and falsely stated that the company is destroying the U.S. Postal system, when in fact it is giving it a buttload of business.
Totes normal.

Dear NeverTrump Republicans and conservatives condemning this message on Twitter: I'm glad you're speaking against this appalling tweet, but you need to start a new party. Trump devoured yours.
