SCOTUS ruled for cellphone privacy -- John Roberts with the four liberal-leaning justices in majority—with Kennedy, Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch dissenting. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/17pdf/16-402_h315.pdfHaven't had a chance to read the opinion yet, but I'm guessing I am going to like it, since I am a privacy advocate.

I would assume they could do it without a warrant if there was an emergency situation, such as trying to track the cell of someone they think was taken like a kid?
If so, I don't any reason why they shouldn't get a warrant first.
