This is a piece at RCP, in their "Real Clear Investigations" section: 'Nothing to Gain,' Kavanaugh Accuser Raises Nearly $1 Million
It's about the multiple GoFundMe pages set up for Blasey Ford, how much they've raised, where that money might be going, and what the Fords' financial situation seems to be.
From the piece:
My take:
1) I don't much care if she rakes in some dough from the GoFundMe pages and from a book deal. As I said in the hearings thread, I don't think she should have been *compelled* to testify before Congress at all. She's had to put up with a ton of shit because of that, so I don't begrudge her any support she might receive, financial or otherwise. After all, Kavanaugh benefited from this stuff, too.
2) That said, I do think there are some potential risks with this crowdfunding stuff, both as a source for bounties, but also as a means of simple money-laundering and fraud (neither of which are new issues, to be sure).
Thoughts?

In fact, Ford stands to gain some $1 million and counting from national crowdfunding campaigns launched by friends and other supporters, while she is said to be fielding book offers.
The potential seven-figure windfall, which she says she intends to cash in on – while still asking donors for more money – has some questioning her motivation for accusing the conservative judge after 35 years of silence, and whether it goes beyond personal or even political justice. Others worry the largesse sets a dangerous precedent: Crowdfunding, which unlike political donations is unregulated, could be routinely used in the future as a bounty for providing political dirt on opponents.
