The irony here is that Monopoly was already gender-neutral in its rules. You weren't a male or female, but a thimble, a racecar or a hat. (Okay, technically the puppy could have a gender, but I've checked and you couldn't tell if the little bugger squatted or lifted its leg.)
It's one thing to rebrand the game with a female character. But the game is literally being rigged to favor female players. Do the creators think this will help in social issues? Isn't it likely to do the opposite? While the entire thing seems silly, and not worth getting upset over, it does tell you something about how some people are viewing the world. Only by promoting unfairness, can we achieve equality. If this is real (And nothing in the article says it isn't) then Hasbro put in money to design, market and distribute this game.

This is stupid and nothing but an attempt at a naked cash grab by someone at Hasbro, who imagines that this sort of game will get purchased as a joke by some of the knuckle-draggers out there.
The Monopoly Socialism edition is not dissimilar, though it is--imo--a far more complete parody (and therefore worthwhile) that could actually be fun to play.

So...6 months from now, I can add this to my "get woke, go broke" thread? Just updated it a few days ago, seems like this will likely be the next addition.

Kind of a 180 from the game's origins, as I understand the original Monopoly was intended more to poke fun of capitalists (which sort of makes sense given the name).

The reactions to the Monopoly Socialism edition were hysterical, like this extended "take down"of the game from some professor (a twitter thread that was cited by most every mainstream story on Monopoly Socialism):
He's full of piss and vinegar because the game isn't interested in "real" socialism, and there seemed to be an awful lot of people who agreed with him. Apparently, none of them were clued in enough to realize that traditional Monopoly isn't really an accurate representation of capitalism or business in general, The Game of Life really isn't much like real life, murders aren't solved like in Clue, and little kids don't spend their days going up ladders and down chutes...

Foreign policy is still a lot like Risk, though, right?

My understanding is that the CIA actually uses Stratego to train new recruits.
