I really liked Brodie Lee / Luke Harper (Jon Huber) and had already heard so many stories about what a good person he was behind the scenes. He also seemed really cool and genuine when he appeared on podcasts, not to mention how funny he and the other Dark Order people were on the Being The Elite series (on YouTube).
I had no dry eyes during Dynamite this week. Their tribute to Brodie Lee was really classy and well done. It was really cool how they put over all of the Dark Order members in each match (and nice way to be respectful to them for their loss as well) as well as how they incorporated Brodie Lee, Jr. into the show. Not only was he able to get involved and crack MJF over the head with kendo stick but he got to pick the competitors in the main event (his three favourite wrestlers: 10 from Dark Order (Preston Vance), Orange Cassidy, and Cody Rhodes).
They also did a really nice spot at the end where they retired the current TNT belt (just the design, not the title) in honor of Brodie and placed his boots and bandana in the center of the ring.
Also props to Tony Khan for throwing all of this together at the last minute and showing that he seems to sincerely care. They originally had a two-part special event that was supposed to start this week but they immediately postponed it to next week to rearrange everything for this tribute to Brodie. Tony also did a lot of stuff (both as gestures and financially) for Brodie's family. As a boss, especially in wrestling where asshole Vince McMahon has been at the top for so long, it's refreshing to see someone who seems to really care for the wrestlers and their families as people rather than as commodities to make him more money (the way Vince treats his wrestlers...sorry..."sports entertainers").
Anyway, just a really well-done and classy show. If you're a fan of Brodie Lee, or wrestling in general, I highly recommend checking this show out.
