This is hilarious. So, after turning down a seat on the board last week, it was pretty obvious he was going to try to get more control. I figured that would mean him buying enough stock to become majority shareholder. Instead, he has made an offer to buy ALL outstanding shares for roughly $43 billion and take the company private. www.cnn.com/2022/04/14/tech/elon-musk-twitter-offer/index.htmlThis could work out well in two ways: 1) a possible improvement in the unfair ways Twitter silences people they don't politically agree with, and; 2) Musk could completely fail, the company could crash and burn and have to shut down. I think #1 is more likely (assuming he's able to buy it) but I'm praying for #2 to happen because Twitter is a flaming garbage dump of human stupidity that I really feel has made society measurably worse by exacerbating toxic partisanship, facilitating harassment and abuse, and facilitating the spread of misinformation. Burn, baby, burn.

It's sad that twitter is collapsing in upon itself. There was a brief moment there when it seemed twitter would avoid the doucheyness of Facebook and it's social media acquisitions. Alas. And alackaday.

". . . anxiety . . . super stressed . . . working together to help each other get through the week . . ."
This is the state of some adults simply because Elon Musk made an offer to buy Twitter. This is the same subset of adults that bitch and cry about capitalism while sipping from their Starbucks and driving their Range Rover.

One can always depend on one of the world's three great clowns* to offer up an incredibly stupid take on things. Robert Reich: www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/apr/12/elon-musk-internet-twitterHuh, that's interes--... wait, WHAT?!?!? And as so many people have pointed out, Zuckerberg (and Bezos to some extent) is basically occupying the position Reich is railing against. What an utter clown. * Reich, Friedman, Krugman.

I saw some mouth-frothing blue check on Twitter claim that if Musk bought it that it would basically lead to WW3...um...somehow?
I'm not really sure how those dots connect but I'm also not a delusional sociopath like most blue checks, so maybe my brain's just not (mis)wired to grok that kind of nutjobbery.

Lol. Saw a lot of "smooth brain" comments directed at the blue checks who are all bent out of shape over this. Glad I know what that means, now...

Lol, yes the lunatic meltdowns and posts reflecting an unhinged inability to cope have been quite entertaining so far. Seems like he's really gone and done it, tho. It'll be interesting to see what Elon's Twitter looks like. I don't anticipate that it will be much different, at least not outwardly. I'm sure he'll shit-can the entire board once he finally gets control (which likely won't be until later this year, as it'll take a while for the deal to close and shareholders to agree, etc.). I have no doubt that getting rid of them will be a net positive. But whether or not Twitter actually improves will depend a lot on who gets installed on a new board, who the new CEO is (definitely SHOULDN'T be Musk, imo), and what changes they're actually going to make. Although I'm enjoying watching all the blue checks who are overdosing on " copium" right now, I'm taking a wait-and-see attitude toward whether Musk taking over will be good or bad after the dust settles. The main problem with Twitter is the hateful woke lunatics who post on Twitter and also the ones who work for Twitter and enable that behavior with biased policies. If Musk takes over and creates a platform that pretty much does the same thing but on the opposite political side, then Twitter will be just as bad (if not worse) than it is now. A social media site overrun with far-right lunatics is just as bad as one overrun by far-left lunatics.

Apparently, Shaun King has deactivated his twitter account, as well. Here's one of his last tweets:

Hell, if Shaun King actually deleted his Twitter account, that would be a huge win. That POS has been responsible for huge amounts of misinformation, fomenting racial animus, and scamming money out of people with his race-grifting BS.
Unfortunately, he's just like most of these other lunatic far-left blue checks in that he's trying to grab attention by claiming he's gonna leave...and then never actually leave. It's the Twitter version of, "If Trump wins, I'm moving to Canada!" They'll whine about leaving, get the attention from the morons who like them, and then later claim that they're staying so they can "continue to fight" or some other such dipshittery.
For example (from today):
