I really wish we had a president whose Twitter feed was not idiotic, inflammatory, alarming, infuriating, sub-literate, exclusionary, partisan...etc.
But since we DO have a president who is capable of such a twitter feed, I'm actually glad he's tweeting. We know who he is and what he's thinking -- and that the press isn't just making shit up about his whack job behavior -- because of what the man tweets. I want him out of office, but I don't want to bar him from Twitter.
Although his twitter feed angers me every day, I follow it because it as close as one can get to a window into his soul. This guy has a buttload of power and it's best we know what he's thinking, not just whatever gloss his handlers can put on him.
Two twitter bots for you:
mobile.twitter.com/RealPressSecBot will give you Trump's tweets in formal presidential statement format, so you can follow everything Trump says without following him.
mobile.twitter.com/trumps_feed will allow you to see Trump's own Twitter feed -- what he sees when he logs on Twitter.
The latter was really an eye-opener for me and jars me every time one of its tweets comes across my feed because it is so jarringly different in tone and content.
Mind you, I make a point of following both liberal and conservative politicians and pundits. My criteria is not that I necessarily agree with them, but that I think they have something interesting and thought-provoking to say, not just partisan slogans, and/or that they are influential enough that what they say matters to America. If they're also funny, that helps.
Anyway, my twitter feed is not by any means a straight stream of liberal purity. Even so, the tone and content of the stuff Trump reads on a daily basis is simply light years from the conservative stuff I read.
