He shot a man in Reno just to watch him die.

I won't be able to watch, girl #1 has a band concert I have (want) to attend, and boy has soccer practice. But I'm sure as hell voting for Beto. I had you pegged as more of a Ted Cruz guy. * *joking, of course.

I like what I've seen of Beto O'Rourke so far, but I'm not sure he'll be able to beat Cruz, which is what he needs to position himself for a future POTUS run. Lincoln lost his senate race and still became president.

And I'll say--for my part--that as much as I found Dr. Ford believable, as much as I think withdrawing was the right move for Kavanaugh, I also think the non-stop outrage over this is over the top, because regardless of my opinion, we're still talking about an allegation about behavior from over 30 years ago that boils down to he said/she said (and Avenatti's bs doesn't help in this regard, at all), not unlike the Juanita Broderick allegation (which you have so firmly decided is false, right?). Well, for Clinton and Broaddrick, I think to qualify as he said/she said, Clinton would have to actually say something about it. But to be fair, I think we can all agree when powerful people are accused of rape, it should only be the alleged victim who ever has any explaining to do.

Additionally, the current mayors of all 4 major TN cities (Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Memphis) are all Democrats. Yeah but Kane could probably choke slam all of them.

Amendment 4--restoring the right to vote for felons who complete their sentence--is 100% okay with me and I'll vote yes, something I almost never do for amendments. I've seen some grumblings from Republicans that this would likely turn Florida blue in the next presidential election. Do you think it's likely to have that much of an impact?

As NT has pointed out, most people can't even name a SCOTUS justice. But Cass, just think how that might change if we confirm Kavanaugh!

It's signed "Bart." One more lie under oath, since in answer to whether he was Bart O'Kavanaugh in Judge's memoir, he said, "You'll have to ask him." Maybe not so much a lie as much as embarrassingly evasive. Especially because I think the answer to that question was pretty damn obvious.

This is a bit long, but fantastic. That's an excellent piece. Kavanaugh's lack of honesty is extremely clear, IMO. I've seen the term "he said/she said" used a lot over recent days, as a way to express the notion that ultimately there's no clear truth here and that figuring out who's really telling the real story is very difficult or impossible. But that just seems like total bullshit to me, in this particular case. With all the claims I've seen of there being "no evidence" that supports Ford's allegation, how easily we forget that testimony is evidence, even in a criminal trial where--for obvious reasons--there's a higher burden of proof. And if one party gives more credible testimony than the other, that is also evidence. And if one party offers false, misleading, contradictory, evasive testimony, then that is evidence, too. And even if it's within the realm of possibility for Kavanaugh to be both lying about various things and innocent of sexual assault, it's most certainly not within the realm of possibility that he could be both lying about various things and innocent of perjury.

No, he has the utmost respect for Renate. Also a devil's triangle is a drinking game. Oh, I was just boofin' around. "Boof" means "fart," right? At Georgetown Prep we say flatulence.

Moreover, Kavanaugh's high school yearbook is littered with obvious sexual references, including the very obvious bragging about poor Renate. No, he has the utmost respect for Renate. Also a devil's triangle is a drinking game.
