If someone was randomly attacked by a mugger or the like and you were nearby, what would you do: 1) Try to help the person fend off the attacker 2) Scream for help and/or call 911 3) Run away, or at least find a safer place nearby 4) Whip out your cell phone and start recording, so you can get some YouTube hits I think 1) through 3) are all perfectly reasonable and defensible choices. Not everyone is equipped to help someone in such a situation, so not immediately jumping in shouldn't be seen as a negative. Plus, such a situation could easily escalate to gunplay or the like, thus another reason to not jump in and even a reason to run away. One can still call 911 after moving to a safe place. But what kind of ass simple starts filming, with no concern for the victim or--really--oneself? nypost.com/2019/08/22/man-fights-off-subway-attacker-in-wild-video-as-bystanders-watch/

I wonder if some thought they were helping because they were filming the mugger for police. Me, I'd probably jump in if I were alone. If I had my kids with me, no. I'd get them away and call police.
