Second major fuck up by the cops in less than a week. There's also this complete BS where these assholes pulled a dude over for nothing (i.e., the same type of suspicious, flimsy excuse as in the story from MN), get out with their guns drawn for no good reason, and pepper spray this guy in the face. After cuffing him, he's released with no charges filed (likely because this whole situation was horseshit and the guy did nothing wrong). Pepper-spraying cop has been fired (good!) and now the guy is suing the cops. I hope he wins and wins big. thehill.com/policy/defense/547822-army-throws-support-behind-officer-pepper-sprayed-in-virginia-traffic-stop

This an unbelievably disgusting--even for the MAGA crowd--way to approach the Wright shooting:
Nine out of ten blue check marks are just garbage people.

Narrative will always trump facts to those brainwashed by ideology. Especially people whose financial livelihoods depend on people following a fact-free narrative, like that civil rights attorney.
As Upton Sinclair once said, “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.”
i.e., grifters gonna grift.

I can't fathom how someone can hold a gun and think it's a taser, but that's me. I'm with you 100%. If it was a newbie cop, I could chalk it up to the notoriously poor training going on in the Academy's these days. But this was a veteran. The only thing I can think of is that she'd been a desk jockey for several years and was recently pressed back into street work due to low numbers of officers because "DEFUND THE POLICE!" and was extremely rusty, for lack of a better term. But that's 100% conjecture on my part.

Just saw this: nypost.com/2021/04/12/daunte-wright-shooting-brooklyn-center-city-manager-fired/Wow, he must have really crossed a line. Let's see... The unholy son-of-a-bitch! He should be drawn and quartered, as well! On the plus side, he now has a rock-solid case of wrongful termination and the city will no doubt be dishing out a hefty severance package. Because after all, money grows on trees...

Yes, why follow a rational, reasonable process that is ideally supposed to be applied fairly and evenly to all, when an overly emotional, knee-jerk reaction that will likely cost the city lots of money later will look better on TV that night to the activists (yet be forgotten about in the next 24-hour news cycle)?

It's one of the most annoying themes on social media: white person posing with guns = patriot, black person posing with guns = criminal

For sure.
But it's not just an issue on social media. Consider the implications of this kind of mindset when it comes to in-person interactions with police.

I'm having trouble figuring out which tweet is more stupid, but I think the 2nd one wins out. "The defense's argument is in direct contradiction to the prosecutor's case" has to be one of the most obliviously brain-dead things anyone has ever said about a court case.
Christ, it's like they're completely unaware that that's the defense's entire job.
