I sometimes wonder if dumb headlines like this are the result of just really bad, oblivious writing or if there's some sort of organization-specific journalistic standards that prevent them from saying something more accurate and direct like, "Body of murdered woman found in car."
Can't remember if it was the Associated Press or the NYT (I could believe it came from either or both), but recall the sheer stupidity of the new standard that capitalizes "Black" but doesn't capitalize "white" because "something something history of oppression." Just another example of intellectual stupidity under the guise of journalistic excellence. I wouldn't be surprised if something similar led to dumb headlines like the one above.
