OMG, I found a review of this book and it is possibly even better than the book itself... muse.jhu.edu/article/468229/summaryThis part is my favorite... But the very next line actually killed me... Hahahahahahahahahaha. Riiiight.

Translation: a bunch of bullshit that the author thinks makes them sound smart but in fact does the opposite. It's indistinguishable from something straight out of the Sokal hoax: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sokal_affair

What gets me is the use of the phrase "the performative" as part of a supposed analysis, which is juts nothing but a performance for other critical theorists. Critical theory is very possibly the dumbest field of inquiry out there that is accepted as legitimate by top universities...apart from critical race theory and sociology, but then that goes without saying, I think.
