Fetterman vs. Oz, is this the future of the Republic, two complete narcissists with questionable grips on reality running for public office and spending all their time shitting on each other on social media?
I mean, Dr. Oz is only a couple steps removed from a tarot card reader. And Fetterman claims to be a progressive, yet has somehow gotten away with sticking a shotgun in a jogger's face to detain him, apparently because the jogger was black (so Fetterman thought he was a criminal).
And this is a contest for the US SENATE!

Yeah, I don't know whether to be depressed or entertained by the fact that this is what our modern politics has devolved into. Right now, I'm leaning toward entertained (especially after the crudite fiasco). But maybe I'm laughing to hide the tears? I hate that politicians are on social media at all because it's encouraged them all act like bitchy, bratty middle school children. It's not just Oz and Fetterman (though they do seem to be going hard in the paint with this stuff at the moment). I hit a nauseating level of immaturity back when "The Squad" (or, as I like to call them, the DemoBrats) started being more active on Twitter a few years ago.

In reference to the debate last night between Oz and Fetter:
There's dark humor, then there's dark humor that's a little too on the nose...

This is not funny anymore, either:
Why don't the people who supposedly love him step in and this fiasco?

From what he's described ("auditory processing issues related to a stroke"), he's likely suffering from partial Wernicke's Aphasia, suggesting his stroke was near the posterior of his left temporal lobe (that's common for ischemic strokes that result in aphasia of this type). It shouldn't have measurable affects (if any) on intelligence, reasoning, or decision-making...assuming his campaign is telling the truth about his condition. But, regardless of political party, we all know that politicians aren't known for their forthrightness and epistemic courage. They've seemed to claim that it was simultaneously not a major stroke but also that he almost died. Hard to discern what the truth is when even Fetterman's campaign doesn't seem to know. His campaign should definitely limit his off-the-cuff public speaking as much as is possible, at least for now as he's still recovering. But Oz's campaign would pounce all over that to cast him as a walking vegetable, so Fetterman seems to be stuck between a rock and a hard place (Scylla and Charybdis for all you annoying nerds out there). I'm waiting to pass any kind of judgment in his specific case, probably because I understand these issues better than 99.9% of voters. But I also don't live in PA so most of me doesn't really care one way or the other. I'd prefer Oz lose, though. The blatant cognitive issues from Biden are a much more serious concern to me.

Oz is awful. Just awful. But I just think people who are having issues like Fetterman--and Biden--shouldn't be put in positions where they can be mocked and ridiculed so easily as a means of undermining their campaigns and/or agendas. It's bad politics and suggests to me that they are being used by the people around them, which I think is disgusting.
