They do this because it will get them in the news and shared on social media. Obviously they don't think Games Workshop is actually going to stop sculpting figures that wear fur. But "PETA asked GW to make futuristic space orcs stop wearing fur!" is the sort of ridiculous headline that gets them attention, and that is what PETA is all about.

PETA is a group a lunatics, so this doesn't surprise me. But, they do seem to up the crazy with each story.

In Skyrim, not only do people wear a lot of fur, part of the game is to kill lots of fur-covered beasties, so as to get their pelts, make leather (or trophies), then use it to forge armor. I've killed an awful lot of bears, wolves, sabrecats, foxes...

Yeah, the same happens in Dragon Age: Inquisition and Witcher 3, where you have to skin the animals and/or take skulls and other parts for crafting (always odd to me why a dragon's body would have armor in it, though). I agree with Amadan. This is just another one of their pathetic attempts at attention-whoring. At least it's not as damaging as their blatant likes that milk causes autism. time.com/2798480/peta-autism-got-milk/

I'm not disagreeing with Amadan. I just find it amusing.

I'm disgusted with the lot of you for not taking this seriously.
Each and every day, hundreds of thousands of beautiful virtual animals are slaughtered for their skin and fur, as well as the hidden treasure they may reveal. Their heads may be mounted on a graphic wall, but as none of the characters eat, their meat is never even consumed.
What's worse is the animals don't even get a fighting chance. 99 out of 100 of those animals are killed while the game is set to easy.
And if the brave animal fights back, the programmer will simply reset and go again.
I say, end the needless killing of unreal animals.
Won't you help?

My SO is a vegan. When we play Agricola, she will literally let her little meeple families starve rather than feed them sheep.
And she thinks PETA is nuts.

When PETA starts throwing paint at people in leather exiting biker bars instead of celebrities exiting award ceremonies, I might be willing to take them seriously. Maybe.
Oh, hell no, I won't.
