From the NYT. A truly amazing man that the world will genuinely miss... and I say that about very few people. More people with his perspective are needed. His iconic TED talk, The Magic Washing Machine, is a perfect introduction for those unfamiliar with his work. "You load the washing machine, and what do you get out of the washing machine? You get books!"

Yeah, his TED talk was brilliant. I didn't read much of his stuff*, but he's cited in a bunch of stats books that I've read. Very influential.
*I have to do stats as part of my career, but I don't really enjoy reading about it.
